Val is great. She is very helpful and a fair grader as long as your assignments are handed in on time. Just keep up with the work and set deadlines for yourself and you'll do just fine!

I enjoy her classes (I've taken 2 so far). Tests are multiple choice, open-book (for online class). It sounds bad for a teacher to be "easy" in grad school, but I like having a not-so-intense class. She's very nice, too. Some of these comments don't give her enough credit.

Class is stupidly easy, but horrible. Books are the worse I've used in a college/university setting, and the prof just does powerpoint from the book, doesn't even write them herself. The discussions are the only way to learn, and are the only time the prof bothers to write anything original and useful, and in small amounts. Don't expect to learn

Val tries to make dense material understandable. Ultimately, she fails. She moves too quickly, does not give enough examples regarding formulas, and ultimately expects her students to remember for several weeks something that she once mentions in passing. The presence of any positive reviews suggests most of her students were once math majors!

Good class. She teaches from her notes and they are excellent. Would have preferred the test cover more of the computations but more on comprehension. She is interested that you learn which is refreshing. Good class, excellent teacher.

As said by someone else, she definitely LOVES statistics. She gave a good overview of research methods and statistics and made everything accessible to those with no background. Good at explaining things and she's clear on grading policy.
