Dr. P's class, hands down, is one of the hardest classes I have ever taken but I feel like it has prepared me and taught me so much information that will be useful further on in my college career. He is very caring and will do anything to help you succeed. Office hours and SI sessions are key to getting a good grade. You have to earn your grades.

Definitely a hard class, but if you are motivated to go to every office hour and SI session you can do alright. GO TO SI SESSIONS!!! Class averages for tests were never above a 70 and questions were worded oddly. Paulding has good intentions but get ready to work your butt off for a good grade. Says he will give pop quizzes but doesnt actually

Paulding really does care about his students. I stayed 3 hours past his office hours just so I could fully understand. He will put in the effort to help you and give you advice. BUT HIS CLASS IS VERY DIFFICULT. EXAM WISE. I wouldnt recommend for first year students he teaches as if were in grad school. His difficultly does give you thick skin tho.

Took this course Fall 2017. Dr. P has to be the worst teachers/professor I've had. Ever. My class didn't have any way of viewing our grades until final grades came out, even though Dr. P was always promising us a Canvas page. We never got any homework to make sure we understood the material. The study material he rarely gave never matched the test.

He is extremely difficult! Would not recommend taking for Gen Bio 1. He seems like a nice guy but his tests are impossible! Many of my friends dropped the class so they wouldn't fail it!!!!

Dr. P is amazing. You have to put in the work for sure, but if you want to be any professional in science, I would strongly recommend you take his class. Put the time in and you'll pass.

Dr. Paulding does flip-lectures but you have to go to class because he gives weekly pop quizzes over the material. Lots of my peers dropped the class due to his difficulty, but it is possible to do well. I would suggest picking another professor first, but you're not doomed if you have him.

Was a psych major when I started his class and it was 100% designed for weeding out nursing majors. The best I was ever able to do on a test was a 75. Class average is between low 70's or high 60's. Started class with 30 students and we're ending with about 15. Tests are worded strangely. Test only on notes he gives. Doesn't thoroughly explain

Definitely knows the material, but fails to effectively teach information to students. Answers questions, but speaks to students like they're stupid. Tests are very different from the material taught in class. Overall, I don't recommend him for Biology A&P

He is a great person and offers help but the way he teaches is like he expects you to understand everything instantly. His test is worded very strangely and it took me three months to get used to his style.

He requires you to work for your grade but it is possible to succeed and his class is worth it. Always be prepared for a pop quiz and go to office hours. He's willing to sit down and explain something if you're having trouble understanding it and genuinely cares about your success.

Dr. P was one of my favorite professors! He's definitely challenging and makes you work for your grades, but you learn a lot and he's always happy to help you out and answer questions. To do well in his class, you just have to work hard and study all his lectures, and you'll be fine!

Dr. Paulding is extremely intelligent and kind. He works hard to make sure you understand the material and is more than willing to help in office hours. He knows his stuff and wants students to succeed. That being said, his tests are very tough. It is not easy to even get a B. Don't take him if you'e looking for an easy ride through gen bio.

Extremely tough class. Had to withdraw because he never put grades in the grade book so I didn't know whatI had. I knew all the material and relayed it to my tutor verbatim from the lecture videos and still got C/D on the tests. Test questions were all multiple choice but multiple sentences long, too hard to comprehend.
