Honestly the best professor I've ever had. Knows a great deal about the material, but makes it very simple to understand. The quizzes and tests he gives are easy, all you have to do is listen to him. On top of that, you will leave with a new mentor and friend if you show interest. Learn a lot and get a good grade with professor Mitchell.

Professor Mitchell is the best! He is one of the most caring teachers ever. He truly has the best intentions for everyone. Just show up to class and take great notes because the quizzes are only from class. One of my favorite teachers you have to take him!

Go to class and take notes, everything you need to know you'll learn in class. The readings aren't necessary. Sections could be interesting but not a stimulating class... I had to keep myself awake. 2 quizzes, a midterm, and a final.

Good choice if you're aiming for an easy B+ or above. Show up to class, sit there and take notes, don't have to do the readings. Notes from lectures are really important for studying!!! His grading criteria is not as clear though. I went to office hours a lot but didn't end up with the grade I wanted. 2 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 take home final.

Such a sweetheart! He makes it very clear what he wants and all tests let you omit questions, so focus on your strengths, pay attention to what he talks about, and write it.

The guy's a fantastic lecturer, and if you're looking for an easy B+ ish, take him. I found his grading frustrating because it didn't seem as though extra effort makes any difference

Mitchell is the man. Very easy class (basically show up, take notes, and you'll be fine) and exams are clear and simple. Subject matter is dry at points, but his jokes and tangents make up for it. If you're looking for an easy theo class that's not too boring, he's your guy.

Alan Mitchell is the sweetest man. He truly cares for each of his students and tries to get to know each student. Very knowledgable about Theology. Some of the material is dry and boring, but not long. Readings are not required, if you want him to know you care ask questions about material discussed. Easy and caring teacher- would take again.

The class was a bit dry. Learning about religion is dry so its understandable. Mitchell is a GREAT teacher. Has a dry sense of humor and is always willing to explain if someone is lost. He's a fair grader. The class is based on 2 quizzes, midterm, and a final. Didnt really have to read the textbook because he goes over readings in class.

Lectures are boring and sometimes hard to focus in, but try to stay awake and take notes. 2 Quizzes, 1 Midterm & 1 Final - all based on lecture notes. If you don't listen in class, try to at least read the assigned material. This class is not too hard to do well in (class average A-), and he makes an effort to helpget to know each student.

Great professor. Knows everyone's names and wants to get to know you. Lectures are boring in that there's no discussion, but he has a great sense of humor. Interesting, straightforward material. Two quizzes, midterm and final are tough but graded fairly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Will miss this class. Perfect to fulfill requirement/ease you into college

Lectures are very clear, though sometimes a little boring. However, he has a dry sense of humor which can be entertaining. Your grade is based on two quizzes, a midterm and a final, which are all graded fairly and are drawn entirely from the lectures. Attendance is mandatory. Would recommend!

Intro to Bib Lit with Mitchell is a good class to take to fulfill one theology requirement. If you attend class and listen to lectures, you will get a good grade. There is a moderate amount of assigned reading but it is not necessary. He is really nice, knows the name of all students, and has a good sense of humor.

Overall, a very good teacher.Very clear lecturer, well organized. Doing the readings is really just meant to supplement the course; you will really only be tested on material that is talked about in class. Relatively easy class, as long as you pay attention in class

Two 20 minute quizzes on bible passages, one midterm, one final. Do the homework in the first month of class, and then feel free to stop - no need to do it as he goes over the reading the next day in class, word for word. Often dull a bit a boring, but an easy class and worth taking if you want to get your Theo req out of the way.

Easy class to ease your way into freshman year. No HW except reading. Grading is very lenient. Two quizzes, a midterm, and an out of class final. He is a funny guy so you will enjoy attending class since it is mandatory. Having no experience with the bible before, i still managed a B+ without doing any readings. Highly recommended! Great guy too!
