Comment:
Very little concrete direction and rather vague feedback on complex assignments. This led to an entirely forgettable experience in which most of the information I learned will likely be forgotten since it wasn't reinforced.

Don't slack on the group project, do a couple examples outside of class, and that's it pretty much. Examples he does in class will be very close to what he's going to test you on. Easy A, great professor, great guy.

He assigns you to a group from the start and most of the assignments are group assignments. Nothing he gave us was too tough, but it can be time consuming. Having him for this online course was much better than the in-class one a few years ago. He actually did some work this time.

3 exams ( 25% each). 1 group project ( divide into 3 presentations - 25%) . Choose your group wisely. Easy teacher but somehow careless. Before exam, he will give you study guide , just read the book on those terms , you will get A. ( all multiple choice, no true/ false, 1-2 short answer. Exam 1 ( ch2-5) , exam 2 ( ch 6-9), EXAM 3 (Ch10-13)

Teaches the same as his 309 class, just reads off powerpoints. DO NOT study powerpoints, dont even bother with them or you WILL fail. He gives study guides 1 week before the test. READ THE BOOK AND STUDY THOSE. Theres also 3 presentations. Gives little guidance on them, pretty easy though

Mostly just reads slides for lecture. Quizzes frequently involve something either not covered or barely covered in class. Most in-class work is done command line, but final and group project are GUI. Explicity REFUSED to use office hours for help with group proj two days before due date. No feedback on tests, just grade, so no idea what was wrong.

Worst professor ever. Came late to class regularly. We got out of class early. Put playoff games during class. Skimmed a ppt and then coded fast and that was class.

3 quizzes, 1 group project, 1 final. You must read the book to understand the materials because powerpoint won't help. Lectures are dried, not really interested.

This is basically a self-taught course. He doesn't offer ANY real support or teaching. Not exactly approachable even though you think he might be initially. If you don't have ANY programming experience avoid him like the plague. Huge group project on stuff he will never teach you.

If you don't know anything about programming, then you will have a difficult time trying to understand it.

Picky about syntax. This is basically a self-taught course. He doesn't offer any real support or teaching. Can have a nasty attitude sometimes.

Really enjoyed this class. Lectures are pretty dry but he goes over programming afterwards so the examples are really helpful. Grade is made of 3 quizzes, group proj, and final. It's all pretty straight forward and easy. If you still don't understand after lecture, just go thru the book. Easy A

do you enjoy teachers that read off powerpoints? do you enjoy not learning anything from class and have to spend extra time teaching yourself? if so then this is the class for you WORST prof ive ever had. the good ratings are for other classes. he cant teach programming. tests on material never covered. skip a semester or 3 if you can avoid him

Hardest class I've taken. His lectures are NOT clear. Reads off the powerpoint and expects us to learn through that. HELLO! This is an intro to programming, please provide us with examples instead of going through the BS powerpoint. Worst prof i've ever had hands down. Wont even help at his office hours. This guy is a quack. ABSOLUTE JOKE.

Great professor for other classes, but clearly not for ISDS 309. Its a tough class that you need concepts and good instruction. Basically reads off powerpoint not providing examples. Everyone seems confused as what is required. You need to do everything yourself. Not a good professor for intro to programming. Go else where. I dropped the class.

An easy class for the most part. Take him over the other 406 teacher if you can. He is a little unclear about group project requirements, but he really just wants to see you put something together and present it. Expect to do 3-4 presentations with your group. Tests are straight up powerpoint and textbook material.

Very straightforward. Easy homework, chill exams. He teaches you everything you need to know in class. I found him interesting for the most part considering the course content. Highly recommend.
