I had Mrs. Suarez for Spanish 1a and I struggled quite a bit but she was always more than willing to help me out with anything I needed. She offers a good amount of extra credit that made it possible for me to still get a great grade in the class even though I wasn't the fastest learner in Spanish.

She is very disorganized. Does not stick to syllabus. Goes off topic, often. Does not email due dates for HW. Doesn't use blackboard. Uses non-user friendly online program. Lectures are unstructured and confusing. She cancelled 7 classes due to random issues. However, she is very caring during office hours.

I would absolutely NOT recommend taking this course and even less over the summer. Condescending, uptight, talks too much off topic about weird stories, a ton of assignments (formatted in a not-user friendly way on paper...). Assignments include: online quiz/chapter test, in-class writing, participation is A MUST (points), workbook work

She is really good at explaining the material. She is really energetic and is there to help you. A few times she got a little disorganized, but she did go through some family struggles. Online tests and activities, participation, and attendance are huge. She lets you do re-writes on almost every assignment and test for 5 extra points.

She gives you plenty of choices on getting extra credit which is very nice and helpful. You do work online and offline so its hard and confusing. She gives a paper with all the assignments needed to be done but its all in Spanish so it makes it hard to decipher. Ask just to be sure. She seems intimidating. Just get on her good side if you can.

One of the best professors at Las Positas. Very knowledgable! She has a lot of real world experience of the language and the Latin culture. Genuinely cares about her students. Participation is a BIG part of the grade so ensure you stay involved. She can be a tough grader but there's ALOT of extra credit so you can make it up.

You'd be crazy not to take a class with her. If you're new to Spanish like me, you'll love her. I've taken her for 1A and 1B. She gives a lot of support if you are struggling, as long as you reach out to her.

The Spanish 2A class is combined with Spanish 2B class, and you won't hear any English. She doesn't teach the grammar in the book that is required and if you want to learn the grammar, you have to go to her office hours. In class, she talks about current events in spanish speaking countries and everything else she wants to discuss. Not good at all.

The class is very easy, at least is was for me. I previously took a spanish 1 class, so I didn't have to do a whole lot of studying for her class. She speaks using difficult spanish words, but she will only test you on the basic things like food, school items, location(up, down, near, far, etc.). She was also very helpful. And she is very social.

Your grade in this class is a reflection of your work and your participation. She's extremely helpful and clear about what she expects in her class. Of course learning another language is never easy. But she definitely makes it enjoyable. One of my favorite professors. Show up to class, Do the work, Pay attention to her feedback, Guaranteed A.

She is a nice person but she cannot teach Spanish. She's disorganized, and never comes to class with a teaching plan. She makes us do the homework without prior knowledge of the concepts. She fully relies on the computer program for students to self teach the language. One of the most difficult teachers I've taken. Would not recommend for Spanish.

Mrs. Suarez is the hands down the best teacher at LPC. She cares about the well being of her students. She goes above and beyond what is required to assist her students in achieving success. She is unique in the sense that you can tell she loves what she does & cares for her students. If you show up & try, she will work with you.

If you take her for 1A, you will find her class is easy. But for 1B, she really encourages speaking in Spanish, so if you didnt pay attention in 1A, or if you don't practice your Spanish speaking, then you are screwed. Just make sure to study outside of class and practice your Spanish speaking and you should do great.

She is a great teacher and loves to tell stories. Not well with beginner spanish speakers because she speaks in spanish alot to get you used to the language. But overall is a great teacher and definitely take her again! She teaches you everything you need to know on the test exactly how you will need to know it. She is awesome

Do not recommend for beginning students wanting to truly learn Spanish. She speaks only in Spanish so if you do not have a background or prior knowledge in Spanish, you will do badly. Curriculum is designed very poorly - she expects us to self learn all the concepts with the aid of a faulty computer program. Do not take.

Very smart and has a great sense of humor. She can get side tracked, allows students to tell long stories about themselves but her lectures make up for it. She paces her class well and always has an answer. She really hates cell hone use and will lose her mind if you text in class, so step outside and save yourself the shame. Cares about her class
