Comment:

One of the worst professors I've had at Texas State. He spends the majority of class time telling stories about his career and then expects you to know statistics for the exams. He spends 90% of class time telling stories and 10% teaching statistics. I've learned close to nothing from this course and do not feel prepared to perform stat analysis.

Professors that truly leave a positive lasting impression are few and far between. Dr. Huffman is one of those professors.

Comment:

Dr. Huffman is a lot of fun. He says things the way they are, so if you are easily offended, then you shouldn't enroll in any of his classes. His tests are easy (study guide has the answers to all tests) and he is very lenient when it comes to grading.

Comment:

Expect to be up at 5 or 6 in the morning to go birding (which is mandatory). Then, expect a 3 hour lecture in place of your lab (bc your labs are when you go birding). Go to class, take good notes, study the material, and be able to draw the figures. It's not that hard, just very time consuming. Made an a, vert phys book helped A LOT. :)

I had an "A" going into the final and I got a "D" in the class. I went to talk to him and he was rude, disrespectful, and childish. If you are a girl with cleavage he will hate you and discriminate against you. I did leave loving birds though, but it had nothing to do with him. He claims to be a christain and acts like a heathen. He is awful.

No help at all. Quite rude when i asked him questions. I got an A in the class, learned absolutely nothing.I did learn how to cram 200 questions in my brain the night before the test.Only gives you 50min to answer 100 questions.If you actually wanna learn something, dont take him.

If you rated him badly, then you are just super LAZY! Huffman's class is not hard at all! He even gives you the answers on the tests!Just apply a little effort! He tells you which graphics and questions are going to be on the test exactly. He helps with the graphics in a test review and the computer will give you the answers to the test questions!

I think maybe I went to that class like 3 times not including tests.And I passed. Just start the review right when he gives it out so you have time to memorize it. It's not hard if you can take the time to do that and you have a descent memory.

i never went to class and managed to pull off a 97. its only because he gives u a copy of the test without the answer choices. if u look on the online textbook quizzes you can find the answers there. takes forever though.

The tests each had 100 questions and only 50 mins to take them. He did drop ten of the questions and gave five bonus points for filling out the scantron correctly. However, if you are not a good test taker, then you will not do well because your grade consists of a test and a finaly. I barely passed!

I hate to say it, but i actually only attended class like 4 times throughout the entirety of the semester. Heres the deal: u take two tests and the final... one test is dropped but not the final... plus he spots u ten points and an extra 5 if u dont screw up the scantron... he gives a review everytime... memorize that and you'll get an A as well.

This was the only class I failed in college. I asked for help and he told me i had the wrong priorities. i was a Senior with a 3.7 GPA. I retook it after he dropped me with an F, and teaching myself, I got an A. He was a horrible teacher.

Dude is easy. He tells you exactly what you need to know. You have to study the online study guide and the grapihcs he gives you. If you look those over 2-3 days before the test, you'll have an EASY A. it is hard to stay awake though

Droped his attendance policy half way through semester, only had maybe 50% attendance and still got an A, can easily take his class and just look at online notes/quizes and still do well, hard to stay awake through lecture but that may be the material not him.
