Good guy. Can get away with doing nothing in class. A midterm and final where you can use your laptops for excel. Walked through classwork, no homework, but exam questions were really hard to figure out. Exams are open note. Not a single homework. Easily passed but don't feel prepared for fin110, didn't learn what other 101 classes learned

The whole class is based off of Excel. He lectures for at most 20 minutes then lets you work on practice problems. He posts all notes online but attendance is mandatory. Both tests are open book. Very good professor to take any Finance class with!

Really good professor for this course. All work is done in excel. Midterm and Final are open book, not difficult at all. Only teaches you stuff that you need to know in the course. Would definitely recommend taking him over other professors.

Very good professor. 10% participation, 40% midterm, 50% final. Tests are open laptop, mimics what's done in class. Everything done in excel. As long as you prepare your spreadsheets, you should get A in class.

Dr. Nikbakht is one of the few people here that goes out of his way to make students feel like he genuinely cares about them and their success. He presents the information as interactively as possible, and is more than willing to talk with students about how they can do their best in the class, grade-wise and material-wise. Just a really great guy.

I really enjoyed his lectures. He made them interesting and class participation is necessary. If you follow all the in-class assignments & take good notes, the tests are pretty much the same questions.

He will not give you an A if you don't get a 100 on your exams. He will ruin your 4.0 GPA if you're a provost student. I got a B+ because of 1 question he wouldn't fix even though I was right.

Great teacher. Definitely one of my favorites specifically due to his way of teaching. His class are not lectures at all, they're very interactive. He gives you a problem and you do it all on excel and it makes it easier to learn that way. He makes sure you get the info and the tests are all open book and on excel he's def my fave, 3 classes wt him

It was through his investment course (and the internship with him) that I got my job. Very helpful and caring. His class is focused on practice, problem solving and quite hands-on. The final exam is cumulative and not easy. But I found his course grading very fair. If learning is the goal, work with him.

Not the best professor but you will learn. He lectures for 10-20 mins then leaves you to solves the problem for your "PROJECT". The whole class is based around the group project. The weight of the project and exams are all unknown which makes his grading policy unclear. He can be rude when you present so know your stuff

Comment:

Great professor, always willing to help you out if you need it. Teaches the class with case based examples. All tests are open computer/textbook/anything you have. Go to class, do the work, and you'll get a good grade. He reviews everything a bunch of times so that you really understand it. I would definitely recommend him for any finance class
