Comment:

Eileen Schuller is an amazing professor. There are few who know more about Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Her classes are tough, so don't take them if you are looking for an easy elective. Come to work and you will be taught what you need to know.

Comment:

A Catholic nun, privileged translator of the Dead Sea Scrolls, front page of the New York Times, learned Hebrew & Aramaic in her twenties and yet is one of the most humble and earnest teachers ever. She is nothing short of inspiring. She is tough - no easy marks from her. But if the Old Testament is what you want, her classes are what you need.

I found her to be incredibly intelligent, but a boring lecturer. I found her class hard to follow and incredibly dense, and her choice of TAs was absolutely terrible. Very nice woman, very capable prof, but just not the kind that I found I could learn from. Rather unforgiving.
