Professor Drake is a hard grader, but a great man. I felt like I was challenged throughout the course of the semester. Currently, he only teaches tutorial at the college. If you want an easy A for tutorial, this is not the class for you. He is very easy to meet with for office hours and replies to emails quickly.

Amazing is the first word that comes to mind. Most people in other tutorials got easy A's but Drake held us to a higher standard and I think we all appreciated it. Friendly and personable outside of class, I feel very grateful to have had him.

Sweet man. Very supportive. Will push you to do well on papers. Expects a lot of reading, even for Intro History. Full of knowledge but doesn't lecture enough.

Professor Drake is an amazing teacher and an incredible human being; he's moving into senior faculty status so he will no longer be regularly teaching, but if you have the chance to take one of his classes I highly recommend that you do--it will be absolutely life changing

A great great guy...but unfortunately not at all a great prof. He's much better in small groups. it's hard for me to criticize a fellow runner and one of the best men at this school but he is not good at leading discussions in class.

Take him and you'll realize why he was such a successful school president/fundraiser. Nice guy, great talker, and, well, an embodyment of the college. But if he's still having students transcirbe data from old english documents, ugh...good luck!

South Africa with Drake is a must; he developed the class himself after a stint in the Peace Corps. An amazing lecturer and compassionate person.
