Dr. Beveridge is a good prof. Try to be interested in his rambling, ask a few questions and he will like you. All his grading criteria is super clear so follow his instructions and you will do well. Hes a super nice guy and will help whenever you need

Comment:

Awesome Prof as long as you put the work in, he doesn't accept excuses or laziness which is fair. Highly recommended in the summer if you need to fulfill your writing requirement fast and painless.

Comment:

Gord gives clear feedback and written instruction for assignments, however, as it is a summer course the class is close to three hours long and out of that only 20 minutes of the lecture are beneficial. He does a lot of random storytelling and chatter which can be painful to sit through if you don't get his humour.

Comment:

A strange guy with an interesting sense of humour, but I always enjoyed myself in his lectures. If you're good at writing, I recommend taking his class for an easy A. If you struggle, either choose a different prof or see him in office hours because his lectures don't help you learn or improve, apart from covering a few technical skills.

spends the entire class talking about himself and making jokes. I learnt nothing about academic writing. He does give you a mark for attendance but if you are decent at writing you don't have to worry about showing up. The class is boring and unbearable. He also told us we had to buy the textbook then we never used it. Easy marker but boring class.

This prof stuck to his word and did not make academic writing an easy class. I learned a bit about academic writing and much more about his cheeto eating habits and opinions on things other than academic writing. Hard on students who came in late to class. Likely better for other courses, given how he knowledgeable, funny, and occasionally nice.

He was very thorough on what we needed to know. He believes that the text book is there to compliment the course and be used as a guide and reference. He takes the time to listen to what students are having issues with and makes time to help solve the issues. His classes are entertaining as he has a really good sense of humor.

Gord is a good choice for an AW class. The course consists of five shorter assignments. Otherwise, nothing of note occurs in the class. The first few small papers are marked hard, but he relaxes for the larger papers. Will correct small mechanical errors in your writing over email, but if you have a question about your paper's content, go see him.

Great Prof. Lectures provide zero information other then helpful tips and tricks for upcoming assignments. Once and a while he will take class attendance usually on Mondays. He will also provide a couple in class activities throughout the term that you can hand in if you would like marks for them. I never had a problem getting hold of him via email

Was willing to scan over assignments, however little valuable feedback was received. Lectures contain ZERO information, however, he is hilarious to listen to. Assignments were a fair difficulty. He MAY be willing to let you resubmit with a mark adjustment

Very helpful and willing to scan over assignments before submitting them. Doesn't make you buy a textbook you don't need. Gives great feedback for future assignments. Made a boring subject less boring.

So funny and awkward. Love him. Takes attendance sometimes on random days. Tough marker on the smaller papers, but is a really easy marker with the final paper. I went over the word limit but still got an A+ on it! You can write about whatever you want. Mine was about drag queens and he just loved it

Personable, open and fun! Lectures are fairly useless, he gets sidetracked too much to teach anything. Entertaining though! The only way to learn in his class is to contact him directly about the assignments. He's crazy helpful with essays one-on-one though! I loved him.

Gord was generally a pleasure to learn from. This course was right up my alley so I didn't have any trouble but his grading was fair and I learned a lot from him. Definitely improved my academic writing skills. A little slow to reply and short with you over email, but great to talk to in person.

Makes class an absolute blast. His grading isn't an easy A though but if you put in the work goto class and consult him you will be a shoe in for a really high grade. By far my favourite prof I've had so far.

OK. I have to telll u this. I never thought I would waste my time in class but he jokes around in class and it's not even funny. About 50 % of lecture is jokes. Please professor! you are not in university to joke around. Please provide some useful papers and hope you trim your long beards ..... omg can't believe I chose this person.

The class is vague and full of nonrelated matters. Went to go see him a couple of times but he wasn't a great help. Tough grader with no indication as to why or how you ended up with that specific grade.
