By far one of the worst classes I ever took. You would think you're taking a 6 credit class by the workload you receive. The class started with 30 people and there were 10 left by the end of the semester. After showing our workload to other students taking 3010, the only response I'd get was laughter. Don't take the class, you've been warned.

Comment:

She was very unorganized, kept class late everyday. She gives a huge workload.Her english class has more work than any other intermediate writing class. She grades very hard. If you need to take this class keep the syllabus with you at all time, make sure you pick a smart good group from the first day, and to understand her it is best to email her.

Comment:

I had Gwen for a graduate level class. She helps you become the writer and researcher you want to be... not the one SHE wants you to be. She keeps her ego out of her teaching and is always working to do what's best for her students and her community. She doesn't forget that her students are complicated real people.

She is the nicest lady, and her class is easy if you are not illiterate and can read the syllabus to know what she wants from her assignments. My only gripe is that she doesn't actually teach; she leads discussion every class, but she never actually taught anything. I suppose that was the course, though, not her.

extrememly unorganized, very unclear, material totally irrelavent to class's subject matter. She's very easy, but her lack of clarity and organization is unnerving!

Service learning project was too much because she makes you do a research paper on a topic that has NEVER been chosen. I followed her syllabus on what was to be included in the papers, and she graded horribly! I've never gotten paper grades that low in my life! Then she made me drop the class when I had to go out of state for a family death!! AVOID

Gwen was a GREAT prof. She was always willing to help you make your paper better. The group discussion in the class was great(even though I don't like participating I did). Th service learning english was also really good. Overall, she is AWESOME!

Instead of pure lecture she opted to bring the students together in discussion. If we got sidetracked she would jump in to guide us back towards our agenda. Good teacher. I recommend her.

Time and effort. But she was there to give new ideas and help overcome the usual problems of writing (a writer's blck). Teaching grammar helped to know where to put the commas. She allowed to write on whatever topic you wanted and gave you a choice to write your thoughts and opinions. Excellent.

A wonderful teacher, and she delivers some of the most interesting courses I've ever had -- highly recommended. Prof. Gorzelsky is smart, supportive, and has a great sense of humor. She'll also really help your writing.
