I learned a lot about what goes into running a theatre. Ira was always there to help and he was always willing to give an extension if you were falling behind. Having class with him is a joy, he's funny and engaging.

I wasn't really a Theater person, so when I was initially placed in this FYS, I kind of dreaded the class. However, Ira was a great professor and I learned a lot from the class. Always friendly, always in a good mood, and clearly enjoys what he does for a living.

Love his sense of humor. Really nice and so long as you try to do work, any work, in the theatre you'll pas his class. He's hard to learn from in a classroom setting but in a practical setting he's great.

Ira is great! He's laid back but very knowledgeable and you will learn a lot! I don't recommend this course for non theatre however. It's in-depth theatre stuff!

Ira is fantastic! He goes off on random but very entertaining tangents of a regular basis. The only complaints I have are that his tangents occasionly make it hard to take not because you don't know which part of what he is saying is actually the lesson. He also just a really hard grader.

he makes life miserable for all of us. he is the devil, and makes us do awful things like painting and reading and group quizes. he is a mean evil difficult man. no one should ever take any of his classes. super hard. he is terrible.....(and we all love him :) )

So yeah... for all of you who think Ira's easy, you couldn't be more wrong. The man is like a viper, filled with poison in the form of quizzes and eager to share. I love his class but GOOD LORD the quizzes. They make my spine jump out of my body and weep independantly of my already sobbing skin. You're a good man Ira, just lay off the damn quizzes.

Ira is an awesome professor, knows a LOT about his field, and is a very challenging tester. He gives a lot of hands on work, which helps solidify and emphasize what he talks about in lectures. Very good, very funny, very intelligent.

Ira is an intelligent guy with an irreverent wit and seems to care about his students. But this course was basically a way for him to get free labor for theater productions. I have no problem with hands on learning, but there was no theoretical component to complement it. If you want an easy A and like building stuff, go for it.

Ira is a very funny cool guy who knows alot about the theatre. His projects are fun even though his lectures can be dull. Expect to do some practical work. I agree though he doesn't know anyones names and thats kinda disappointing.
