I love Winkle!!! He's super laid back and is an easy grader. I didn't do much of the homework and just listened in class (which was easy) and did good in the class.

I absolutely loved this class! Because of him and the way he taught, everything was clear and very interesting. I'm making the classics my minor because of this class. He will be missed.

I also had to do a semester withdrawal because I had no clue what I was getting in the class. He took too long to grade and return the midterm and first paper. Other than that he was a nice guy and the quizzes weren't hard but only 5 points so you really had to know your stuff.

Hard class. Nice guy but he took too long to correct papers and quizzes. Unclear about some assignments. Responded to all of my emails weeks after I had sent them. Needless to say I had to do an end of the semester withdrawal. Not impossible to pass but extemely difficult to do well.

I was surprised to see so many positive comments. Professor Winkle never once responded to the emails I sent him. Tomorrow is our final exam, and I have still not receieved comments back on our final essay. He promised we would have them 6 days ago. I expect a professor to keep to his word.

I am so sad Prof. Winkle is leaving--I loved this class and wish I could take him for more. I learned so much, if any Calvin students check this out: TAKE HIM. He's wonderful. The comments he gets say enough!

Dr. Winkle is the greatest! He never talks past his students, but tries to get them as excited as he is. His tests are always fair. He expects students to be prepared for classes, but it pays off if you are. He will be greatly missed!!! GVSU's loss is Calvin's gain.
