If you want an easy A take this class online. He states not to plagiarize; however, I saw tons of students plagiarizing on their Discussion Boards all through the semester. If you need to learn make sure you are an excellent self teacher because that is what you are going to have to do. I wanted to be challenged and I was not engaged at all.

Comment:

A lot of lab work on this course, I find it very difficult to comprehend him during the lecturing period. I think Mr. Kidd should look for a way to impact the knowledge he has attained to the life of the student.

Comment:

Decent online class. Most of the time you can look up the answers for the test questions easily. He lets you pick between from a main assignment about a page long, or gives you alternative work (usually a lot more easier) which is screenshotting your test score or a web page from CISCO net academy. Also the usual discussion board weekly.

This class started a little slow, as I am not sure Mr. Kidd was particularly organized. He would forget to post assignments on time, and we spent most of the semester working on the homework after the fact. The assignments towards the end were crammed together. Taking this class in the summer requires a lot of work in a short period of time.

If you think this is a "introductory" teach you class, wrong! Take this class in a classroom environment. If you take this class online, it consist of posting to the discussion board & responding to 2 classmates, scenarios with 2 questions and some have sub questions, and 3 test (1 is the final). He doesn't want to see you fail, he will help you.

I took his online class and made an A, not that easy though. All you got to do is to complete all assignments before the end of the semester and then the exams, then you're good. Grading for assignment excellent. A very busy instructor yet he cares about you.

I dropped this class, along with I'd say 1/3 of the class. He is very knowledgeable in his filed but does not have the ability to "dumb" it down, nor does he have time outside of set hours to help. First day he lectured for 2 hours then expected us to stay after lab hours to do the homework since he lectured through it.

I have taken 2 of Mr. Kidd's classes. He is a wealth of knowledge about networking and security. He is caring and will work with you if you are having any issues. He is pretty lenient with grading and usually drops a couple of grades at the end of the semester. If you read the material and attend lecture you will do well in his classes.

Very difficult class. Nice guy and knows his stuff, however it was not transferred well to students. The lectures were rather boring and were full of technical speech. Test reviews are very long but don't always cover what material the test actually will. Tests are very tough!!! Also must have the books required for the class!!

Teacher forgets to open up assignments so you can do them multiple times which is a huge time waster considering how long it takes to complete an assignment. Very unorganized. Seemed to just be thrown into the class at the last minute and it showed. Would not recommend taking this specific class offered by teacher. Also grades work months late.

Took the class online over the summer. YOU MUST HAVE THE LAB MANUAL! I never bought the text book and still made an A. Labs are ridiculously easy, as are the quizzes. His syllabus is confusing but once you get it sorted out the class is a breeze. He does grade late work but don't expect to ever hear from him and he does take forever posting grades.

Took because of his RMP grade, but found his tests outrageously challenging. I'm an A student who studied the textbook, and I had a tough time. You definitely need to be tech-minded. He took 4EVER to get back to me (sent my study materials morning of test). Also no study guides or review of chapters on test. Don't take online. Mac-users, good luck!

I took this class online and it was fairly easy. Professor Kidd was on top of grading and was very helpful when I needed it. He was a little slow in responding to emails but still got back to me. I would recommended him.

I had a very difficult semester while taking this class but Professor Kidd was extremely helpful about working with me. A little disorganized and slow to respond/update but follow the assignments and you will easily get an A. I pulled an F up to a C thanks to his help near the end of the course. Would definitely recommend!

Professor Kidd is very caring and understanding.I took him during a full semester. Assignments were due once a week. He opened quizes ahead of time which was pretty good for me. Dis/board can be done anytime as long as we are on that chp. It can be confusing but what I did is go by the syllabus. Communication was great.

Comment:

Professor is the head of the Computer Science department at the NW campus, therefore he is strong his teaching. The overall class was semi-difficult. You must do your chapter readings. The labs were fairly simple. The lecture exams were definitely the hardest part of this course. Professor Kidd could have made this course a littler easier.

Professor Kidd is so helpful it's almost unbelievable. The labs and practicals take time but the course itself couldn't be easier. He's nice about make-up work and testing, just be respectful and show that you're trying and you'll breeze through with a 100.
