I'm sure she's a great professor, but from my point of view, she wasn't the best. Her lectures are long and she doesn't explain the equations at all. She gives quizzes and tests all the time. Most of her lectures are confusing. However, if you do not want to show up to that class, then you will most likely miss important stuff, but it is do-able.

She only gives 2 midterms and each is 25% so if you did bad on one you will not even get close to A, her English is bad you cant understand her lecture. She gives the long way to solve a problem which takes way longer than the normal one. DONT TAKE IT.

Her grading is extremely off. She doesnt look for numbers, only for the work you did for you answer. Half of the time, I dont know what to do to get a good grade because even if I get the correct answer, she is gonna take off points for my work.

You need to know calculus and basic trigonometry for this course. She is the easiest teacher for 4A. Easy grader. Strongly recommended if you are Chinese. Despite her English is not good, she does a good job explaining things you don't understand. 4 questions for each of the 2 exams (except final), usually 1 problem on each exam is from her pdf HW.

Comment:

Complaints about the class being difficult are valid, but let's be realit's STEM physicsof course it's hard. Jiao's class was extremely reasonable. Exam questions were similar or same to homework, she offers EC, she rounds a few percent up if needed, she doesn't take off points for correct but improper solutions. Easiest A in 4A, I think.

She is pretty good professor especially for people who doesn't like read textbooks. Her lecture notes were clear, even you couldn't understand her explanation. READ her notes. Her quiz was easy, just HWs. Her exams were pretty easy because she only tested superficial theories. You even don't need to memorize formulas. I will take her again.

Very hard to understand. She also doesn't really know how to use the equipment for the labs. She had to ask a student to come up and help her explain what something was and how to use it... if you signed up drop and get your money back asap.

Extremely thick accent. Very difficult to understand her lectures and she does a terrible job explaining material. If at all possible, take a different teacher. I will say, however, she curves your grade heavily and at least in my class dropped a midterm and a couple quizzes. Be prepared to teach yourself the material. Recommend ilectureonline

Optional hw, Weekly quiz, 2 midterms, 1 final. Offers previous versions of midterms online. Homework, quizzes, and lecture are nowhere near as hard as the exams. Study the previous midterms and memorize formulas and constants on your own will get you through the class. First midterm got 4 A's, 7 B's, 13 C/D's, and 39 F's. I had to drop.

This class is easier than 4B, yet because she is so bad at explaining concepts thoroughly you really have to rely on teaching yourself the material here. If you ask for help she won't really answer your question to the point of where you can figure out the answer on your own. In a nutshell, easy class but horrible lecturer.

The concepts in this class are relatively straightforward, but the way she presents them is not very efficient. Because of her accent she writes notes on binder paper and recites them off of the overhead, which is fine, but it would be nice if she spent a bit more time providing more examples and explaining how to work through problems.

Poor instruction and poor problem-solving ability. Teaches theory straight from the book instead of focusing on problem-solving, but expects you to solve moderate to difficult problems on the exams. Unhelpful during office hour. Did not know how to solve some of the homework problems when I went to ask her for help on them. Do not recommend.

The quizzes and tests as well as the final are super super super hard. I do not understand the problems and the solutions. If you want to get A,B you have to suffer a lot.I would recommend not to take this class if you want to get an A.
