I had to take English 004 again because the professor I had last quarter was very vague and didn't teach much, but Professor Polster has covered all of those criteria my previous professor couldn't do. She goes over everything you need to know for the exam and a fair grader as well.

Comment:

This class was terrible as I didn't learn anything or benefit much in terms of writing skills. Her grading is unclear because even though I followed everything on the rubric, I could never get a solid A on an essay. After receiving a B+ or A- on my essays, I somehow ended up with a B- in the class which ended up tanking my GPA .

Comment:

I highly recommend Polster, it was my favorite class. The book we had to read was interesting and the final was easy because she gave us the prompts. Not only does she provide each student with a paper of her standards for her B paper but will also read over your essay prior to the due date during office hours and give helpful feedback.

There wasnt much work to do and we only had two essays however her quizzes were super specific so be prepared for that. Her lectured werent the most interesting but overall she was a fine teacher, btw dont buy the book because youre barely gonna use it just get the pages off someone who already took the class.

Such a nice lady. Sets clear guidelines on what she expects for a B, but do a little more than that and you can get a higher grade. Interesting themes relevant to todays world. 3 papers, 1 presentation. Final was an in-class essay, but the topics were discussed in the class before.

I was fortunate enough to have had Professor Polster. Her essay topics are very interesting and she doesn't grade harsh. She gives a lot of feedback and grades based on the content. I had previous professors be harsh and say that my writing was not at standards; however, with Professor Polster I felt confident with my writings.

I use to dread my English classes because I had terrible condescending professors in the past, however with Dr. Polster this was not this case. I first entered her class nervous but the the entire quarter was just warmly with her fun lectures. Participate and go to office hours to let her know you try because she is approachable. 3 essays 1 pres.

Very easy class. Grading was specific, essays were easy, putting time and effort to the class will get you to pass. Professor was very nice, and office hours werent necessary but feedback was always good. I would take again.

She was nice and cheerful professor who seemed very passionate about her job. However, there was something about her that was kind of off. The readings were very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed the class although some activities were unnecessary. 4 Essays and the final was also an essay. All and all, she was okay.

Dr. Polster is a great professor/teacher for English. I had her for B and C and she was great for both. Topics are very interesting/relevant and reflect modern day issues. She keeps the class fun and isnt strict at all. Gives good feedback on essays and very laid back. Very fair grader and very approachable. Definitely take her Got an A- both times

Prof Polster is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had. She is also a really good teacher and has very clear requirements for the essays. If you put effort in, you will succeed and learn a lot!

Professor Polster was great and her class was honestly really interesting as it relates to pop culture. She assigns the minimum amount of writing for the course but you still have to put good, solid effort into the essays because they are the majority of your grade. The writings were also fairly interesting and she is professional and respected.

Great professor who really cares about her students. Avg number of papers for a typical english class, really interesting discussions, and clear expectations of what she wants to see in your paper to get an A. Class was pretty discussion/opinion oriented - there was a lot of argument analysis which is extremely helpful going forward. She's great!

Best Teacher Ever. She is so nice and caring. She cares is you pass or not. There isn't much homework, but if she assigns homework make sure you do it because it will affect your grade drastically. And she always ends class early. Not many tests and barely any reading. Highly recommend.

Awesome English Professor! Polster definitely gives good feedback on the essays. Easy grader! Just do the assignments and you will pass for sure :) The St. Martin's Guide really helps with the essays that she assigns. She also requires an in-class reading novel but the novel is really good.

Very enthusiastic and clear on what she wants on her papers. Very helpful feedback. Tries to keep the material current, so students are more interested and do better. She's a great professor!
