I hated her grading system. It was horrible! She asked the students not to drop her class just yet and at midterm I had a C, but my final grade was a F! I wished I wouldn't had took her advice, I should've drop her class ASAP! I hate to take this class over again, ugh.

I took this class online during summer semester. So many tests and quizzes. Uses the lockdown browser with webcam. All were open book, but you need to actually do the reading to make it through the exams. Also required more quizzes on the textbook's online study space, one project (with required library trip), and discussion questions.

Dr. Kemp is a sweet lady and truly cares for the students but her lectures are super boring. Although class is seated all the work is online and can be done on your own time. Exams are open book but somewhat hard if you didn't read first. In lecture she gets off track and lectures will not be inline with exams so feel free to read ahead. Easy A

Comment:

Took her class online. She's a Good Professor and usually helps you when you have any difficulties. Her test were usually using lockdown browser and a web camera but they were open book and they question were sometimes easy. we have a research paper that is usually 20% of the grade.

Horrible Teacher. If you do no think like her you are automatically wrong. She is not clear in what she wants, and if you ask to many questions so obtains a nasty attitude. I would never take her again, and I would not recommend her to anyone. I did not learn anything because I was too busy trying to figure out what she wanted me to write.

VERY boring and long lectures about.... who knows what? strays off topic all the time and doesn't help students when they need it. Requires a TON of work on GAview and is a very tough grader... avoid.

don't get on her bad side, I think it clouds her judgement and she tends to retaliate. She doesn't believe she can be wrong. she's very unclear as to what she wants, students asked to many questions in beginning on where to find assignments.

I'm not a fan of Dr. K. She's a sweet old lady but talks slow in lectures so it's hard to stay alert. She's not very specific about what she's looking for or what she expects; and she doesn't do a good job and responding in a timely manner without a reminder. one time she gave me the exact same feedback on 2 papers I wrote but gave different grades

After reading these comments, I thought I was alone but I am not. Please run far away from this professor. Maybe she's misunderstood but understand that people pay for a good education. She does not respond in a timely manner and is not clear on her expectations which hinders you and result in receiving strictly bad grades in her class. Not helpful

This class was not hard and the content is simple. However-she grades hard! I emailed her several times and reply was slow. I email before add & drop to ask about my grade. She said it looked alright to her-I ended up with an F in this course. Furthermore, I would have dropped it she had posted the grades accurately before midterm.

Dr. Kemp is very structured so you must read and study. I took an online class with her and it required alot of my time so if you have a full load, you may want to take one less class so that you will have the extra time to devote to the reading and studying.

NOT a good professor. all we did everyday and she would come in class lecture. she didnt make anything interesting, just making up stories along the way. never even opened the book in class dont buy it and she gave a midterm with 68 all fill in the black questions from 5 chapters and her final is the same way.

If you are conservative do not take this teacher. She will skew facts and not encourage critical thinking. She will intimidate you if you disagree with her ideology. Her class is not an education, it is a brainwashing.

I've had her for three different subjects, as a History major you'll take her eventually. Prepare yourself for the utter boredom! She is always fumbling aroung on GAVIEW(60% of your class time wasted) and she'll just talk, about nothing really. You get maybe 30% facts and 70% anectdotes or experiences of hers. Tests are very NOTE derived!!!
