Be ready to work hard. His Indian accent may be difficult but is clearer after 1-2 weeks. If you're looking for an easy grade don't take him. He is very caring of his classes and prides himself on his students succeeding in professional careers such as Drs, chemical engineers, etc. Im taking organic chem now and he did a phenomenal job preparing me

This professor is amongst the most dedicated and knowledgeable professors you will encounter. Etremely accessible and dedicated to helping you be successful. Amazing university level lectures. If you plan to take any exams for furthering your career (MCAT, etc) that actually require you to UNDERSTAND the material, you must take this professor!

Dr Madappat is such an asset to SAC and the chem department. Don't get me wrong, the class is tough and requires a ton of effort, but I have never had a prof that genuinely cares about the success of his students more than this man. Dr Madappat will bend over backwards to make sure you understand concepts if you seek help. Can't speak highly enough

Avoid if possible, unless you're passionate for chemistry. Lots of studying. You have to attend class and go to tutoring every week. Worst you can do is get behind.

This professor expects a lot from you. It's a tough class and it's up to you to keep up. If you are willing to do the work you should be fine. If you need help, he is very willing to help you out. He is also hilarious which made lectures pretty entertaining.

Dr. Madappat is the BEST chemistry professor I know. He is extremely difficult but he wants you to know chemistry, most of his bad reviews come from students who only need chem 1 and don't care. Madappat will teach you like you are chemistry major in university. He is super funny , he may come off loud but hes just passionate. Highly recommend.

He can be a little confusing, yet does a great job explaining things if you just ASK. He explains the logic behind things, the "why". The homework is extra credit, but the tests actually make sense if you've done the hw. Like the tag says, skip class and you'll fail. He's not one to give good grades unless you actually earn them. Also, hilarious.

Professor M was by far the best and most interesting professor i have ever had. his class is hard he holds his expectations to a university level. very smart man and will help you to endless hours. the problems he does in class and in the notes are identical to his test questions. he is the professor that taught me how to do well in mathscience

Madappat is a very approachable professor which is I feel is important for such a difficult class. He offers office hours as well as tutoring sessions every week! He also is clear in his explanations and relates concepts to more understandable everyday things. He's funny too! He drops a quiz grade and a test grade can be replaced with a makeup test

Professor Madapatt as everybody else has stated is difficult. If you are a Biology pre-med major, I would suggest taking this man. He makes you work for your grade and pushes you to the point where you will thoroughly understand chemistry. Also doing his homework is not mandatory although it would be to your own benefit to do so. He's great

He is a very loud talking professor and we went from a class of 30 to 8 by withdrawl date. Lectures are long and if you miss a minute you'll be behind. He made me feel stupid in front of the class because he would yell if I had something wrong. He gives work as if you don't have other stuff to do. Overall I've never had a harder class in my life.

BEST CHEMISTY PROFESSOR IN THE WORLD. Just sayin, I hated chemistry before him but because of him I REALLY LEARNED. It's true that he has a high drop out rate though because he really makes you think. What I liked: ABSOLUTELY, TOTALLY, UNBELIEVABLY FUNNY; other than the elements and compounds, NO MEMORIZATION (he believes in logic). Outstanding.

There is no organization at all, tests are hard and he rushes you. Lab experiments are hard and long . This professor doesn't know how to teach at all , chem 1 is not hard , but he confuses you with the way he teaches it . Tests are nothing like the reviews at all ,There is no extra credit , and he doesn't drop any grade . Not recommended .

Terrible job of explaining the concepts of what he's teaching (if he explains what is going on at all), ABSOLUTELY NO organization. Should be easy material but taught so poorly, it's impossible to learn what he's trying to teach. Nice guy, knowledgeable in the subject matter, NOT a teacher. 25 down to 12 students before test 2. Self-taught class.

If you are a Chemistry major, you may want to take Maddapat. If you are any other kind of major, and have a life, do not take him!!! He loads you down with busy work, tests you at a Phd level, and hard to understand sometimes. The class dropped like flies throughout the semester. If you have to take him and want to pass, lock yourself away.

Do not take this professor, tests are not what you expect them to be after reviewing and studying the reviews, handouts and homework. Did not like his teaching style. Just a poor choice of a professor overall.

I strongly recommend you look else where for a chem class. He is so unorganized. Every test and quiz is rushed. Labs are started with no where near enough time to finish experiments. You will never ever be on schedule. Started with a full class only 7 of us left. You will regret taking him.

Very good professor! It is a must that you attend every class and complete every homework assignment. He explains very well, but most of the class will hit and miss homework and pre-labs and this sets them up for failure. I would most definitely take his class again. I went in his office many times to get explanations and he does everything to help
