DONT TAKE HER. She is extremely unprofessional, talks about personal life in class A LOT yet still expects you to somehow learn materials and take tests on them. Basically a huge waste of time and money. Tests are confusing and unclear, will tell you you're wrong when you question her. Have to teach yourself basically.

Dr. P is an odd character but overall Psych of Women is very easy. The class consists of 3 or 4 take home exams, and no homework or quizzes (very easy). She will go off on a tangent for hours if you let her.

easy A for sure, administered the wrong exam twice to us. still made us take the correct exams. I'm sure she lost exam 2 because we still haven't received our grades & the semester is about to end. Gets off topic, definitely didn't feel like a 400 level course. She is a nice lady and accepts late work. 4 Exams; mult choice & one paper.

Absolutely horrible. Does NOT teach at all. Class is a waste of time. She just reads the powerpoints out loud to the class. Never learned anything from her, just taught myself everything with the book. If you read the book you'll be fine for the exams. /If you can avoid taking her then do, bc social psychology is very interesting, just not with her

I didn't buy the book because she wasn't here for the first week of classes. Ended up with a B- and I don't normally get B's. She does not teach, she reads. 4 tests, all multiple choice. Last 2 tests she gave study guides because no one was passing. She's pretty out-there and rambles a lot. May have done better if I bought the book but unnecessary.

She is a great person, funny and personable. But, she can't teach. You'll be happy if it's just a ge class, but if you're a psych major you'll be disappointed about how much you don't learn. It's an easy A though.

Dr. Perdue is the worst professor i have ever had. She does not teach well, at all. The only grades you get for the class are 4 exams (including the final) and the wording of the exams is difficult to understand. Very awkward teacher and she doesn't care about the students. SWITCH IF YOU CAN!!!!!

AVOID HER. doesn't teach at all, only gives 3-4 tests that are multiple choice, the only way you'll pass those is by reading the book because she doesnt make powerpoints or write notes. rambles a lot, class drags. withdrew out of this class, never taking a class with her again.

I honestly have trouble coming up with how to describe her as a professor. She's disorganized, off-topic, irrelevant, and even contradicted the assigned textbook material often enough for it to be an issue. However, I barely showed up to class, never bought the book, took all her tests at the end of the semester (she allows "makeups") and got an A.

I was so hot and cold with this class. There were some days where she actually taught the material and other days where she just rambled on about nothing and made me wish I'd have stayed home in bed. She can be pretty funny and sometimes her lectures were interesting.

Dr. Perdue has her good moments but I would avoid her if you have the chance! She is super opinionated and shoots down others opinions before they even try to share. Very intimidating, does not like to answer many questions and rarely answers emails. She does allow for make up exams. The study guides she gives don't help much. Read the book!

Comment:
This professor is not clear about her expectations AT ALL. All of her exams are take home and you will not learn anything about the material in class. Use the book to find the answers. She clearly hates men and fights stereotypes about women using stereotypes about men. Avoid this professor at all costs. She is petty and spiteful in her grading.

She is the least conventional professor I have ever had. She is fearless in sharing her opinions and experiences. She's an incredible person to learn from. If you're a young woman looking to be inspired to "stick it to the man", take this class. Not a hard class if you can articulate your opinions and are a good reader.

Very easy class. Attendance is not mandatory but if you sit in the front row and are absent she will remember your face and wonder where you are. She's very accommodating to those with disabilities. Gives a make up exam session at the end if you miss the one in class. Get ready to hear about her own sex life..

If you have a choice, do not take her. People say she is "honest" but it's more like disrespectful. Its her opinion or nothing. Her tests aren't easy and I end up teaching myself because she talks in class instead of teaching. She does have makeups if you miss the test though. attendance is not mandatory. I never look forward to this class. :(

Dr. Perdue is a real person. Very honest and interested in making sure you understand that life outside the classroom isn't gum drops and lollipops. I love her grit and her approachability. She gives many first hand examples and her laugh may startle you, but she is fabulous. A very very smart Professor.

Great teacher that makes you actually think, not only about the lecture but about what's going on in our society and the world. Can be a bit boisterous at times but I think she's doing so to get people's attention.Come to class, take notes, read the text, you'll walk away learning alot.
