It was such a test-heavy class, but he didn't curve any of the exams despite their difficulty. We had three midterms, which were 13 % worth each, and the final which was 25 % worth. He didn't provide any study guide for the exams, and his lectures were poorly organized. Do not expect him to round your grade because he refused to round my 79 to 80

He's alright, but he is unbelievably boring. I am writing this while in his class right now. I tried listening for the first 3 weeks. Took notes. Went to tutoring and office hours (he offers 3 hours total of office hours per week). Still can't figure out this class. I just want to be done with calculus. Not a bad guy, just sloppy at teaching.

Great Professor who really knows his stuff and care about the future of students. If you feel difficult in his class, I suggest you quit math, since you won't survive for a minute in the genuine math study and research. For those guys who don't study hard and wish to get A's in Math, I mean solid Math courses, good luck on your career.

I studied everything and did all of the homework even paid for private tutoring. The only thing that saved me was the common final and his policy to give you whatever you got on the final as your grade if it was higher than your cumulative. Overall if you are willing to put the effort in you do learn a lot. Dont take him if its your last calc class

Horrible professor. Not well organized, presents exactly what is in the book, makes you feel uncomfortable and idiotic when asking questions. Tests are very difficult. Funny at times, but what is most funny is his ability to teach.

Heres a guy who didnt miss one day of class, studied for every quiz like it was a midterm, got an A in both math122b and 223 (vector), did every homework, went to math tutoring, and still got a C. Thought i was dumb, until i tutored the material to my friends. This guys class is hell. Please dont take it for the sake of your GPA. You're not funny K

What can I say about a professor who wishes he could hand out negative grades? The class is tough, what he lectures about is clear, but then asks ridiculously hard questions on the exams. However, he is very nice, and extremely helpful during office hours. He refused to curve the class despite the absurdly low grades, so I'm sure that most failed.

I don't understand the helpfulness rating that others gave this professor. He is honestly the best math teacher I've had so far. His lectures are clear and concise, and it's obvious he knows the material. I coupled his lectures with those on MIT vids, and passing was a breeze. Go to his office hours. Also, his Russian Army jokes are hilarious.

He doesn't care if students learn the material or not. His philosophy about partial credit is: "if I give partial credit people will be encouraged to guess, but if I don't everyone will fail." The questions he puts on the test are much more complicated than anything he presents in lecture or is on the homework. Try to get a different professor.

I consider myself good at math, and his honors section was difficult. His explanations are ok, but the questions that he puts on the tests are much more difficult than anything on homeworks (which are all online) or done in class. You REALLY have to understand EVERYTHING in order to do well on his exams. Only take him if you like a challenge.

Messy boardwork, lectures unclear and disorganized, tests hard with problems you would least expect, focuses too much on theorems and proofs although this is supposed to be an applied course. His attitute is as if his job is to make you fail, rather than to help you understand. Wait for someone else to take over this course before taking it!

this teacher is very hard to understand, he is from Russia and does not speak english very well. He is one of the hardest graders in the Math department (self proclaimed). He does not give very much partial credit.
