Prof Corra responds to emails almost instantly but is very set in stone and you can't work ahead. Don't expect late work to be accepted. 2 discussion boards a week and a quiz every other week with 2 test for the semester. Pretty easy class if you just set aside some time for it and use quizlet, to help you study prior to your quiz, of course.

Hard and easy class depending how you look at it. Summer course is pretty intense with reading. Discussion boards nearly everyday. Do them and all the quizzes and they count a lot toward grade. You should be fine. He is very helpful. Easy A if you do the work. His tests are not easy, but the DB and quizzes really help the grade.

This online class is pretty straight forward. Pretty much consists of discussion boards twice a week and an occasional quiz on the units. Discussion boards are typically opinion based so pretty easy. I don't ever use the book.

Comment:
Prof. Corra's class wasn't very difficult, but it wasn't quite easy as well. The Discussion boards were easy to complete, but the tests are hard. So, you need to read a lot in this class. Chapter quizzes are 40% of the final grade, and you can take each quiz 3 times, but the grade from your last attempt is the one that counts. Be careful there!

The tests for Social Inequality are very tough!! Good luck! I do not recommend taking him for this class unless you have to. He is funny and nice but tests are hard and pop quizzes are too!

He is not helpful at all when it comes to explaining subjects in depth. He favors you only if you kiss his butt in class. He does not grade fairly at all. He reads directly from ppt and tests are extremely specific, so read read read! The only good thing about his class is the grading scale!

90% of test material comes from his powerpoints, so it's important to attend class! (extra credit for attendance) Dr. Corra is very funny and makes otherwise very boring info relevant. As long as you come to class and pay attention you'll end up with a pretty good grade.

Good communication but the subject matter hindered an otherwise good class. I think some of the tests should be modified because they come word for word out of the book and don't really test your knowledge.

Distance Ed. class. Corra is extremely set in stone on his course syllabus guidelines. You have three times to take a quiz. If you get a 85 the first time and take it the second time and get a 56 because you doubted yourself on the extremely specific questions, you get a 56 on the quiz. Discussion boards: 2 per chap. Do NOT take!

DE course, Reading the chapters is mandatory, quiz every two chapters, which is good compared to 5 and 6 chapters at a time. Two DB post and 2 response per chp but no minimum word count required, study and turn in ALL assignments on time. Easy A!!

I would avoid taking his class if you can. His tests are SO hard and specific. He reads straight from ppts and doesn't post them online. You HAVE to read the text. He's not that helpful and acts annoyed w his students. The class is very boring and nothing but stats. I managed a B but it was just luck. I got the same grades whether I studied or not.

Corra is probably the worst professor I've had in my life (attended Duke before). His demands for a summer online course were intense and unforgiving. I aced all of the discussion boards, but the quizzes were practically Kantian in comprehension requirements. Harsh and unforgiving person in general which led to many issues in an easy subject.

I feel this class is demanding online. Discussion relate to reading topics, however, grading on them seems to be harsh. I worked really hard in this class.

I don't recommend this instructor. Took 6 week summer session online and was worked to death! Quizzes timed and extremely difficult. Mid-term and final not so easy either. Time consuming discussion boards and impossible to score great on them. Class was rather disorganized with confusing due dates.

I took him this semester and his class was truely enjoyable. He gives 2 tests and 3 quizzes. The 3rd quiz is optional, depending on how well you feel you did on your other quizzes and he lets you retake a test. If you study the online notes and take notes in class, you'll be fine. I didnt even buy the book and I made a 93%

I got an 'A' but this was the toughest class I've had in my two years at ECU. Dr. Corra stresses important points during class, but if you want to do well on the test, be sure to read the text. We also had group projects and a fairly easy research assignment during the semester.

Class could get boring, but he was very funny. He gave us study guides, but I learned after the first test that you really need to read all of the stuff from the chapters VERY well. Didn't have to take the final because I was satisfied with my grades and he gave us that option.
