This was my first class at ISU and I took it online. I thought it was going to be absolutely horrible, but I ended up loving it! Follow her assignments, and you will get at least a B; 93% is an A though. Three week class, paper due every week and then a final. I absolutely recommend this class! (:

Moffitt is the BEST! 1st day of class she was very intimidating, i thought about dropping it But glad i stayed!MUST go to class, read the book & attend her office hours! A semester long campaign audit with a perfectionist prof. She has very high expectations.You'll work hard and long but you'll appreciate it in the end :-)

Moffitt is a Great Teacher! She gives you all the tools you need to get an A if you attend class and go to her office hours. Fun class to be in all around. Just make sure not to miss!

Best teacher I've had!! Moffitt is a PR genius. Her class is relatively difficult, BUT her door is always open. She makes it easy for you to be able to get an A. She tells you everything you need to know for the final paper. Tests are intimidating, but if you attend class and listen to what she says you'll be golden. Don't leave ISU w/o taking her

She is a GREAT teacher and very passionate about what she does. I am in her class right now and I look forward to coming every day. She makes it easy for you to get an A.. all you have to do is get your work into her so she can grade it up front. There is no excuse to get a bad grade in this class. Excellent teacher!

(COM377 used to be 378)I was very excited to take this class and design my own campaign. What I ended up producing was 70 pages of garbage that I hesitate to even add to my portfolio. She dictates every item and requires surveys to be written her way - the people taking the survey didn't understand the questions, which invalidates everything else.

I took the 3 week COM128 over summer. The first e-mail she sent was intimidating, stating that each day of learning was a week of learning and if we couldn't keep up with it we should drop it. It ended being really interesting and the readings weren't too difficult. As long as you stay on track with reading, discussions, and papers you will do fine

Don't put off the audit/reading! Keep on track & get in to see her early or your last few weeks will be awful. Plan on making time to meet w/ her a lot because she doesn't hand out papers explaining anything she just talks in class & expects u to write it down & be clear on what to do. It's really hard so be prepared! 87 is the min. for a B, 93-A

Both COM 321 and 378 can be overwhelming classes. But the projects are very clearly explained, and you hand it in by sections. Dr. Moffitt was always very willing to spend time helping, clarifying, or just encouraging. Sometimes she was hard to find in her office, but that's my only complaint.

Hey, I've got an idea...I'll teach and grade the class the same as every other class and make the assignments just as hard, but then bump the grading scale up so that when I give someone an 85, they actually get a C. GPA-murdering ****.

Comment:

Dr. Moffitt is courteous and relaxed. At times, it appears overwhelming, but have no fear, you will get through it. Very helpful on the major project, but watch out for those exams, the preparation is lacking. Read the book! Stay on top of the project!
