ONE OF THE WORST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD! THIS GUY SHOULD HAVE NO BUSINESS TEACHING A COMMUNICATION CLASS WHEN HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE WELL TO HIS STUDENTS! I WENT TO EVERY LECTURE AND DIDN'T PASS BECAUSE HE IS ALWAYS GOING SUPER FAST AND IS SUPER ARROGANT! HATE IS A STRONG WORD BUT I STRONGLY DISLIKE THIS PROFESSOR!

Never missed a class and still hard to follow. Lecture with high speed. Textbook covers 2/5 of exams. The rest is lecture which I think it's unfair. Students should be able to catch up with the class by reading textbook. Exams are full of unnecessary confusing wordings. Not recommended if English is not your native language and for slow learners.

His lectures drag and he tends to go off on tangents all the time. I have to disagree and say his tests are RIDICULOUS. I studied for hours and might as well not have. Nothing on the tests remotely resembles the lecture notes, and his examples were long-winded and worded in a confusing way. Avoid him. He may be nice, but he's dull and useless.

i dont believe his exams are impossible like some ppl say. it's a lot of material b/c u only have 2 exams for ur grade. the study guide was time consuming but are basically put word for word on the exam (which is very long). be able to cut through his examples to get the main idea. extra credit did nothing for my grade. helpful and approachable.

I loved this class. I think that the examples that Professor Motley uses are reasonably interesting. As for the tests, he gives you all of the book-related questions prior to the test and all you have to do to get the lecture-related questions right is show up and stay awake. It's not as hard as people made it sound, if you just do a little work.

Although he's friendly, I'd avoid his class if you can. He'll give you 15 examples per concept and lectures tend to drag on and on...and on. His exams are not easy nor straightforward.

I fell asleep the first three lectures, as I'm not accustomed to 2-hr. lectures that transmit to 3/4 of a page of notes. Things got better the second half. Make sure you have the correct multiple choice answers on the study guide, memorize them, go to class, and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, because he doesn't round.

His syllabus is outlined very clearly, so from the 1st day you know what he expects of you. Expect to put in the effort. You'll be rewarded for it. 30 test questions come verbatim from the text's practice test. 55 questions come from his lectures, which make you THINK about cmn, and the overall conclusions you can draw from it. It was a good class!

Easy class if you go to lecture b/c 50/95 questions on the midterm will be straight from lecture. Very eager to help and easy to talk to. His funny stories are great examples that are usually on the test as well.

Took Intro. to Public Speaking over the summer. Made material very clear, gave us all the potential questions for midterms on first day of class. Tests were super easy. Helped cure my stage fright, gave great feedback on teachers. Nice guy too.

Pay attention & take good notes in class since most of the exam material is derived from it. Kinda hard to dig through his stories just to find the main point he's trying to get across. If you go through the study guide thoroughly enough, you'll get close to half the exam. Only the exams determine your grade; not the assignments.

good professor, explains very long detailed, stories for each example, so not much information is covered during his lectures. pretty good study guides, if u answer all of the questions right on the study guide, it is guaranteed you will get at least half of the answers on your test right.

They are right, he can be a bit boring. If you cut out all of his stories, the lecture would be about 15 minutes long. But, he is a really brilliant man, and if you want to get to know a prof in the cmn department he is worth it. You must go to class if you want to do well and his tests are long and challenging.

90+ multiple choice questions, long, extremely tedious tests. Difficult to stay engaged in this class, even formed study groups throughout the qtr and the tests were quite tough. Usually bored out of my mind. Pointless assignments. There are extra credit opportunities.

I wish I took this class with another professor. The material was interesting, but he made it so boring. His tests are ridiculously hard to understand. He likes to hear the sound of his own voice, his lectures are boring.

likes to hear himself talk, ambiguous test questions, class is pretty easy if you go to the lects and stay awake, buy the classical note archives, very unstructured lecture style, stands there and talks about whatever. ppl that like him are usually the ppl that laugh alone and nods while he's talkin

Fun class, yet his midterms are hard. In order to get a decent grade, you must go to every lecture and take GOOD notes. Test based mostly on lecture, but gives alot of freebees from the practice midterms. Some Q's are sorta ambiguous. You can do EC to make up some points.
