If you plan on taking this class with Houf, be sure it is in the afternoon. Lectures are long. Test and quizzes were confusing. Test are free response and over the lectures. The quizzes were based on the reading in the books not the lectures. He does manage to make some corny jokes though and manages to get a laugh out of us.

Dr. Houf is very funny and his lectures are not boring at all. Beware that he does cuss a lot, so be prepared to hear some F bombs. He does give reading assignments; the next day he gives a multiple choice quiz. Be sure to know the material because his tests are essay based. Participation is required so be sure say something during discussions.

Great professor! Tries to make jokes and lightens the mood :) you learn so much throughout each class. attendance is important for notes. His quizzes aren't difficult unless you don't read the chapters they are on. Overall great teacher and great class :)
