Prof. Hobbie is very strict,but ok once you get to know him he's cool.You must be ON TIME if u are NOT your grade will suffer.You r put into groups,& You have projects & 2-journals assignments.His stories related to what the course is all about. Remember be on time,DON'T miss class and do the work & you will pass.I liked him very much :)got an "A"

Norm starts off tough but he definitely comes around. He has lots of stories and examples from his life to bring into the class. There is only 3 or 4 major assignments. I recommend him!

He is the crankiest yet funniest person ever! His jokes are extremely funny. The stories that he tells are funny and his life stories of how he worked at AT&T are fascinating. He is not happy with the modern world with cell phones, etc. He is very strict when it comes to directions but overall he is a great professor

Norm (the class is ran on first name basis), runs an interesting class. Most of the classes you sit in a circle and debate on some sort of issue. Other classes you work in your groups and when you complete the work you can leave. Take home final. Group pres. at the end of the course. Decently easy course. Norm can be rude from time to time though.

He is a great guy just dont do dumb stuff like take out your phone and be on time and listen to him. he has great discussions your not siting there doing nothing no homework just 3assignment & 1 group presentation at the end just do it the work when he tells you dont cram it cuz its not alot. it will seem like it if you do though but great guy tho

First off, DON'T buy the textbook, you won't need it. He's cool as long as you stay on his good side. All you have to do is come to class ON TIME, respect him, and do your work correctly. Lots of interesting class discussions and group work, hardly any lectures from him at all, but he still taught us beautifully. Overall, great professor!

This professor is impossible. He expects you to give him the up most respect while at the same time he embarrasses students in front of class and attacks students if they don't agree with him. He is probably the rudest person I have ever met. Useless class discussions and the 2 journals are a complete waste of time.

You will improve and learn a lot in this class. Norm is very strict, so make sure you NEVER EVER...come late to class, talk while someone else is speaking, or miss class. Stay on his good side. He's a character and a little moody at times, but it keeps things exciting!

Considering that my first speech I got yelled at in front of the class for going under the 5 min's,he's an ok guy but,strict and VERY analytical,talks WAY too much about life experiences or his "lady friend". Gives good tips, never any homework,in class activities,the speeches and a paper we wrote for Non-Verbals. U either like him or u don't.

Norm's class was def not easy or hard..it was a lot of work for a summer class, but he did help me get over my fear of public speaking a little...he is a truly great person.yes, he is strict but its understandable...his personal stories are interesting and funny..since this is a requirement for many, I would recommend taking it with Norm...cool guy

Norm is definitely strick, but with reason. Its just his style of teaching. I learned a lot in the class because he was strick and because he made the assignment VERY clear. He also applied a lot of what he taught to differnet class assignments. There was no way you could fail this class, unless you don't listen.

There are no homework or exams, alot of group discussions + 2 journals due based on the text. There is a final group oral presentation. This class is great Norm is a very carng and understanding professor Teaching style is straighforward and he rules with an iron fist. Enjoyable Prof and class!!!

If you know all the information about your speeches and hardly look down at your note card, and make plenty of eye contact you'll get decent grades on the speeches! He isn't such a bad guy, although he's a tough grader, and you'll learn alot about yourself and others! I knew everyones name in class

norm is kinda wierd and i think he should be on some medication. the class wasnt that hard but norm can be a bit demanding and seems to want nothing but perfection
