I started off doing really well and then I struggled once CH 6 hit. As soon as I started to struggle, he would go on self-righteous rants when I went to his office for help. He always tried to make it seem like my fault, even though I studied 4+ hrs daily and his book never helped. I had many panic attacks. He also gossips and picks favorites.

A severe man whose effective self-written textbook fails to compensate for his unshakeable God complex. Prepare to be called on and called out in class. Avoid his office, which is typically the least helpful or encouraging resource. Work hard and, equally importantly, look like you genuinely enjoy the pain. You may get a + on the end of your grade.

This man is such a rude person. He doesn´t care about students and will make you feel stupid when you ask a question. I changed my major because of this guy.

Dr Arrey is an extremely funny and smart professor. Many people find him to be mean, but he truly wants everyone to pass. His class is extremely hard, but its pretty straightforward. STUDY EVERYTHING IN HIS PACKETS

Dr. Arrey is the best professor I've ever had. No other professor has ever given so much of their time to help me succeed. Accelerated ochem 1&2 are no joke but if you put in your time (at least 5 hours/day), go to office hours, and participate in class, you can get that A.

Dr. Arrey wrote the book on Organic Chemistry. Literally. He uses a textbook that he wrote himself. The funny thing is, it's more helpful than traditional textbooks. Dr. Arrey has such a unique, and often hilarious, way of explaining difficult concepts that achieving highly is inevitable. Study hard, go to office hours, and don't be a Chlorine Guy.

Dr. Arrey is a great professor, and one of the best I have ever taken. His class is definitely tough, but as long as you work pretty hard and go talk to him in his office when you have questions, you won't get anything less than a B+.

Very hard to understand what he wants. The material is very difficult, but if you get on his good side he can be an enjoyable guy.

I stopped liking Chemistry because of this professor. He would not hear comments and will try by all means to not give points back even if it was his mistake.

His classes are not easy. It can be hard to understand him. I suggest going to office hours and talking to him after class. Be active in his class. He seems mean, but he can be very pleasant.

Now being in medical school and thinking back to undergrad, the only class that remotely compares to the work load and amount of material is Dr Arrey's Organic Chem. If you want to know what med school will be like , this is the class to take. and trust me , i complained as much as anyone else. Dr Arrey is an excellent instructor.

Comment:
Dr. Arrey, as he constantly refers to himself as in the third person is terrible; arrogant and unhelpful. The textbook is written by him and riddled with mistakes. It consists of ppt slides which he shows in lecture and there are no explanations. He doesn't explain it in lecture either. Also, there are no answers in the back of his workbook.

Hardest class I have ever taken. He always puts questions on the exam that we never have talked about. You have to memorize an ungodly amount of notes for each exam. The highest grade in that class anyone has yet received is a B.

Very self-centered. Very egotistical. Hard to understand & does not care whether you get the material or not. Has a God complex, so don't get on his bad side. Do NOT recommend.

"The son of god", as he once referred to himself in class, is probably without a doubt the worst teacher I have ever had. It would also be nice if I could understand half of what he said, which makes an already hard class even harder. Couldn't be happier to be done with his class.

Impatient, unpleasant, rude, insensitive, I could go on. Shamelessly favoritist and egotistical, bordering on megalomaniacal. The only teacher at Capital I've ever disliked. Do yourself a favor and take OChem in summer school or somewhere else at all costs.

One of my least favorite professors. He is impatient and expects you to already know the new material and is frustrated when you don't understand. He teaches his lectures in a screaming tone-usually end up with a headache afterwards. He assigns ridiculous amounts of assignments that useless to the content of the class. Never again.

Not a great teacher...at all. he is funny sometimes, but it would be more useful to hear information on the class rather than how many "friends" we have.
