Comment:

For the love of Christ, avoid this man at all costs. Pecorino will teach you the HW /study guide problems then completely change it for the test (which he will nickel and dime you on). This course is a masters/undergrad hybrid that is really geared more toward the masters students. DO NOT TAKE if you care about your GPA.

I had all A's and one C- and it was this class. I dont think it has anything to do with me, but all with him. He is so bad at teaching and so biased. Worst professor at UA

Another terrible teacher in UA's econ department. Hopefully soon they will fire some of these and bring in some new teachers who actually teach well, and care about students.

I have never made less than a B in any class in my entire life and almost failed this one. Professor Pecorino is hands down the WORST teacher I have encountered in my whole life. All he does is draw graphs and math on the white board with almost no explanation to what any of it means. Your grade is based solely on his near impossible tests.

Comment:

So, EC308 is hard with any teacher, so naturally Pecorinos is too. But he is a pretty solid dude, albeit a bit quirky. I would definitely take him again because I did learn from him. He also offers study sessions before tests, so he does care about his students. The only issue is that he handwrites everything on the board instead of a PowerPoint.

Professor Pecorino's class is very hard. He seems like he cares, but then again really whatever you make on the final is what your grade will end up being and he changed up how we were preparing for tests for the final. He had review sessions for the first 3 and for the final sort of left it up in the air. Would not recommend taking him.

hard class but if you go (can miss 2 times w/o penalty on bonus) and participate then youll be fine. His tests are open ended math. He does give you a study guide for each test though that is helpful. DONT SLACK IN THE BEGINNING because it all builds up and the final is very hard and weighted more. You will need a cushion in your grade for final

He is a terrible teacher, does not explain material well. If you don't go to his reviews you will struggle. The review for the final he had the students do it and numerous students messed up and he failed to fix the problems. He is a very tough grader who will nickel and dime you on the tests as much as he can. Take someone else.

I have no idea why everyone is saying he is a bad professor. His class is extremely structured, and you always know what is expected of you for exams. I have thoroughly enjoyed his class, and he offers his own to host review sessions for the exam. Wonderful person. Go to class, take notes, and do the homework, and you will be fine.

Pecorino catches a lot of heat for various reasonsbe it the difficulty of his exams or gradingbut I don't think its necessarily all deserved. Go to class, asks questions every now and then for bonus points, do the homework, work through the study guide, and you'll be fine I promise.

This is the hardest class I have ever taken and the WORST professor I have ever had. Not only is he extremely unapproachable, he presents the material in the most absurd manner. For an intermediate class, he makes it extremely difficult and expects a lot of prior knowledge despite the fact that the only pre requisites are mirco and macro.

Yes, he can be difficult in the way he grades, but he is thorough in his lectures and you learn a lot in his class. Available for help often too. Grade is compromised of tests primarily, but he builds in bonus points into test. I cannot stress this one enough, GO TO THE REVIEWS! They are extremely helpful. All in all, I would take him again.

Paul was a nice guy, but he was a ridiculously hard grader. He had no grace with any grades. Over the top and should not be teaching. He is too smart to be teaching college kids. If you dont talk in class you dont get any participation points. I would NEVER take him again. Im telling you, SAVE YOUR SELF!!

nice guys AWFUL teacher. just writes unintelligible graphs on the board and expects you to know what he is talking about. didn't even use the book at all. only has tests and a 5% quiz and a 35% cumulative final. this guy is way too smart to teach people who aren't econ geniuses. would take a different professor.

I am an international student. Dr. Pecorino is the most responsible professor I met in UA. His class is easy to understand so that I rarely read textbook after class. The class and homework is much helpful for tests. He is a very kind person. I really appreciate for his help.
