MA program? Clear upfront he's not going to read papers. Grades based on textbook quizzes. May quiz before covering the material. Cute little nicknames for younger students. Knowledgeable, apathetic. Said to be completely different in PhD program.

Comment:

One of the best professors in the Department. Very Knowledgeable! He explains the class objectives clearly from the start, he delivered different teaching methods to help the students' learning process.

Comment:

Great class! Dr. Wooten keeps class with an open discussion and allows everyone to have their say. He shows movies to better relate the material on an everyday basis. Very nice and helpful.

Comment:

He was interesting. Likes Fraud (Freud) a bit much but he shared his personal experience and perspective which was educational and relevant. I didn't know he was 'spiritual' but it would be refreshing if more of the teachers didn't worship political correctness and unclear thinking. Read 'Psychology as Religion' by Vitz. It's in the library.

Dr. Wooten is a supurb counseling professor. He communicates the experiential side of counseling and provides excellent examples of many approaches, often from his personal experience. He models caring and compassion and a deep spirituality.

Dr.Wooten is a fair teacher. He expects you to be a mature Grad.student who doesn't need to constant reminders.Gives facts and leaves it up to you to follow through completion. He is a spiritual person but NEVER fanatic about religion. He doesn't sweat the small stuff in life.

From what I've seen in my first semester in Grad school is that Wooten is a trully caring person. If you are interested in knowing how you are standing in the class you can talk with him personally and he will put you on the right track. I was afriad of his classes, because of this site, however my experience with Wooten has been awesome so far.

Obnoxious, entitled, and a real let down. He is consistently unprepared; doesn't grade papers; and conveniently forgets them so he doesn't have to say so. One of the worst, if not the worst, professors I've had. Likes seeing himself as a guru. Vulnerable people, beware.

Wooten is impressed with himself. He is lazy, does not grade papers & prefers students that "are spiritual". He has a little fan club, which he cultivates. Does not grade papers for online classes & assigns grades based on mood & if you are willing to kiss his rear end. Famous for not returning emails or phone calls because he can't be bothered.

I really did not like this teacher at all. He is lazy, thinks too much of himself, is a bad teacher, and generally thinks he should have a fan club. I'm not a fan, he hasn't deserved it. I wish they'd choose someone who can actually teach. Everyone who takes his class fails to learn, you can tell when you sit the final exams.
