Comment:

With a class like EME050, lectures are going to be boring, but Rida Farouki still manages to keep his class listening, mainly by telling jokes and stories. Really friendly professor, slow lectures, but machine shop is very interesting. If you take EME050, I recommend Farouki. Beware that the overall grade only consists of 4 components.

Lectures are pretty dry but that is how the material is, lab component pretty interesting. Prof tells jokes every class. Enjoyed it.

Prof. Farouki is one great teacher! Good math/science/engineering teachers are hard to come by in this school so it's nice to get a great one amidst all the terrible ones (and there are many!). Getting a solid dynamics foundation is very important so be sure to take ENG 102 with Farouki if you're stuck at UCD.

Farouki is awesomeeeeeeee. He's got such a sense of humor (and trust me, it helps a lot to have something to look forward to for an 8 am engineering class). His notes are VERY clear. Tests are pretty reasonable (some problems are tricky though). Study on your own time since he doesnt have time for examples usually. But he does help a lot with hw :)

Very fun but the class is very very hard. the lecture pretty much takes up the entire time of 2 hours, so there is little time doing examples. study afterwards will help a lot. tests are tricky but it's easy.

I am only 2 weeks into this class, i have no idea how his tests are yet. But i can already say this is one of my favorite teachers at UCD so far. very clear, tells very funny jokes and stories throughout class. Overall he is a very likable guy, i would highly recommend him!

The guy is one of a hand full of engineering professors that you'll actually enjoy listening to. Got a good sense of humor. Course materials aren't so hard so most of the time in lecture will be of his wacky/corny jokes but that's what makes it bareable.

i looked forward to his lectures. He is funny and enthusiactic when lecturing. He is very helpful in offcie hours. Exams are long but fair.Probably my most favorite prof in the department

Expect to hear a lot of jokes during his lectures. He is not helpful outside the class since he is very busy with his administrative job (chair of the MAE department). His exams are long but not difficult.
