Comment:

Not that bad of a professor. Although, tests are hard and you are required to attend four classical concerts and write three page papers on each of them. Also, you are required to memorize 17 songs and be able to write the title and composer down after listening to it. OK course.

He is a terrible professor. His skills at being a musician are wonderful, but he expects you to know all material like he does. If you ask him for help, he will tell you to go to the Resource center and get it. He is not helpful or easily approachable. Hated every moment of his class.

I absolutely hated this class. I took this class because I thought it was going to be an easy way to boost my GPA. I was soooo wrong! Tests are over notes AND book and his lectures are just boring and long. I would not take another class from him and I would not suggest to take a class from him. take his wife instead!!

I had him in Spring 2009. I'm not sure if I loathed the class because of the material, or because of how unnecessarily ridiculous he made it. One good thing about him, though, is that he is extremely gifted with music and I'm sure there is a lot to be learned from him.

I got so tired of him ranting on and on after every test about how there "must be something wrong with you if you don't get an A." His tests are all fill in and he's looking for the tiniest insignificant detail. He's an unbelievable musician, but a terrible teacher. If you don't want to be insulted or called stupid, do NOT take his class.

Could not stand this guy. He gives you notes one these items, tells u to read the book for these concepts but gives you a test on something totally different. Ended up dropping his class halfway through the semester. seriously how do u write a 4 page paper on what you hear at a concert?

This man really needs a reality check. He believes that if yo don't get an A on his tests,youre stupid and that you need to relearn how to study.He is also very arrogant and his tests are ridiculous.Get the book because you will need to read every single chaper in detail. Tests are over 3-4 ch.s at a time. GOOD LUCK! TAKE HIS WIFE'S CLASS INSTEAD!!

amazing musician, but not so much amazing instructor,was not there half of the time. To do well, you must attend four university concerts, memorize two clasical music cds, and read the chapters front to back to do descent on the tests. He will not tell you dirrectly what is on the test. But, his playing makes the class worth it!

This class is just downright ridiculous. There are 4 tests (fill-in 20qs) and 1 classical music piece identification. You have to attend 4 classical music concerts and write 3 pages each on them. Make sure to pick up a program. Low point value overall in this class. I received a B somehow. I hated this class overall. Wish I didn't have to take it.

Awesome musician!I learned so much in this class. You have to go to 4 university concerts and write a 3 page paper on each. It sounds hard but if you actually attend the concerts the papers were easy to write. His tests were only 20 questions long but required a lot of detail. Class required a lot of studying but if you go to class you'll be fine!

The key to doing well is to take extremely good notes. Write down everything he says. The tests are difficult because he asks for very specific things. He is a breathtaking pianist! You must attend about three or four concerts and write reports on them. Make sure you get those out of the way before time runs out!

It is very interesting and as long as you come to class and pay attention, you should not have no problem getting an A. He is such a talented musician and I enjoyed hearing him play. The concerts we had to attend were also nice and the reports are not graded hard either. It will help to higher your grade.

Very hard class, but very informative. His test questions are very sporatic- you need to know your material or you will definitely fail the class.
