Comment:

Ronald is all over the place when lecturer. He is so disorganized and is not willing to help students. He has turned down students for help and told them to go to their peers. The class is only graded by 4 exams, and he is very hard grader. Review guide will not help you, you will need to study every word he said, and if you miss it, good luck.

Comment:

Dr. Hoodin is the exact definition of "old school". He utilizes the white board and uses slides and projector. I used a laptop to take notes because there was a lot of info crammed into each lecture. He loves when people ask questions and doesn't mind if you record his lectures. The exams were tough and he doesn't supply study guide so study hard.

Dr. Hoodin is the best! He is so nice and caring. The class is 3 exams and that's it. If you are good at memorizing information then you will be fine. You have to take really good notes because he doesn't use a powerpoint. Write down everything he says. #hoodinsfanclub

I LOVE Dr. Hoodin and his A&P class! He's very knowledgeable and makes the subject interesting. This class is completely lecture based (do not buy the book!) Go to class, take good notes, you'll do fine.

Completely lecture based class. 4 test and one extra credit opportunity. Lectures are interesting enough. The man really knows what he's talking about. Kind of a harder grader, but it's manageable. If you take good notes you'll be fine. Don't need the textbook AT ALL.

I love Dr. Hoodin! His class (Anatomy and Phys of Speech) is pretty difficult but very interesting. He knows SO MUCH about the subject that he kind of just spouts out tons of information very quickly. The only grades in the class are 4 exams and 4 reviews that are extra credit. Exams r hard but if you go to class and study, it's not bad! Love him!

Awesome teacher! Had him for two classes, looking forward to having him again. Nice, helpful, reviews and clarifies for students. The tests are hard but force you to learn the material. Curves the test grades and test reviews are extra credit. Fast talker, you'll take a lot of notes but I've learned more in his classes than any other so far!

Dr. Hoodin is hands down the best professor I've ever had. He is extrememly intelligent and you learn SO much in his classes. His tests are very tricky but if you take good notes and study well before tests you will get an A. If you need clarification on something he is more then happy to help! He respects students that put in 100% effort.

Hoodin is a funny guy & good person, but not the best professor. You better be a fast note-taker, and good test taker for this class. He's very smart, but trips himself up & contradicts himself at times. Tests are really hard. We do have study questions that bump your grade up a little if you do them, which helps.

I love Dr. H! He is adorable and extremely intelligent. His tests are really hard, I suggest making notecards and finding your own resources for extra information. He adds points to every test and then bumps you up half a grade at the end of the semester for doing extra questions. He's funny and really nice. Kind of late to class everyday though :(

DR. HOODIN IS THE BEST! HIS TESTS ARE EXTREMLY HARD BUT IF YOU STUDY HARD AND STUDY ALL NOTES YOU WILL BE OK. I ADVISE BRINGING A TAPE RECORDER! REMEMBER, HIS CLASSES ARE SUPER HARD BUT YOU WILL LEARN A TON AND BE SO THANKFUL IN THE END!

Hands down the best teacher in the program. He knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. Make sure to take good notes because he goes straight off of them for tests. Really wants everyone to succeed so if you study and put in effort you'll get an A.

Dr. Hoodin is the cutest professor you'll ever have and what a nice man he is! I loved him and his classes SPSI 332, 336 & 337. Tests are a lil tricky but after u take the 1st one, u'll realize the answers r embedded in the test ALWAYS. U should study & if u know somewhat of the info then u'll find the answer SOMEWHERE on the test. Such a cute man

Hoodin is very nice but his tests are tricky and difficult. He's an extremely hard grader and you need to rewrite exactly what HE's said on the test or else you will get tons of points taken off (or none at all) Yes, he does add 5-10% to tests but that says something doesn't it? Fill in the blanks are murder, one blank and he wants a 6 word answer!

I found his lectures in Acoustic Phonetics to be very interesting. He gives clear examples. However, his definitions sometimes slip by quickly during the lecture, so you MUST pay very careful attention to EVERYTHING he says in class. I recommend recording his lectures, as you need to be able to produce precise definitions on the tests.

There's really no point in rating him, considering if you're looking him up you have to take his class regardless. But, he is a nice fellow and you can basically skip class and read the book for the test. Tests can be hard. No homework!

Absolutely my favorite professor. Extremely kind and generous and really interested in his students' success. Lectures are fast, but he covers a lot and is always willing to go back over something. Awesome.
