Never went to class because he gave out test from previous semester. Didn't try super hard and made a B+. I could have made an A if I tried harder.. He has a cool accent and knows what he's talking about. Can be very helpful too.

Although I hate astronomy with everything in me, Rubins is a very nice man! He has such an interesting accent and when he lectures he just seems so happy. I dropped the class because I'd rather take bio, but he is def. better than my first astro prof. If you have self motivation take this course and you'll pass. :)

Dr. Rubins is an extremely intelligent man. I believe he is too intelligent to be teaching such an easy course. You do not really need the book and if you study the review of older test he gives you you will do well. Attendance is not mandatory, but suggested (from me) since you can benefit from the knowledge being offered. Solid class.

Pretty good, it's tru u dont have to go to class which means more time to sleep in and the tests are almost exactly like the reviews, memorize the review and youll get atleast a B. I'd recommend this class

Just like all the others have said about him... I didn't even go to class expect for the exams. Pretty much he just reads from the slides so there's really no point in going to class. He can be a bit ditsy for such an old man.

I have literally attended class 5 times this semester. Once on syllabus day, thrice for exams, and once on a random Tuesday to see what I was missing (a good nap). He gives copies of old exams out the first day of class. I finished with a B and learned absolutely nothing. Take him for the easiest science credit at UTA.

He is god of Astronomy. He know his stuff. The problem is he's just rambling on and on without staying on the topic at hand. 1 time he teach 1445's material during 1446 class for the whole hour!!! I'm serious. He will give out review before test, which is 90% exact same as the test. 5 will come to his class, and 80 people will come test day.

Easy class. I never go to class because he just reads over the powerpoints which we already have. Whenever i did go, i just fell asleep. He is a funny old man with a British accent. Tests are so easy. Take him just to get your science credit over with.

He read to us and it was extremely hard to pay attention. The tests were easy because he gave us previous tests to study with answers but I was not motivated to pay attention in his class, or attend

Easiest science credit at UTA bar none. Just buy his notes from the bookstore/read the chapters the night before test and youll get an A. First day of class he said, "I hardly ever went to class in college, so I'm going to make my class for the same type of students." Thats when I knew I had hit the jackpot.

This class was very easy. Attendance is not required and you really don't need to go to do good on the tests. Buy the package from the bookstore and study it before the test. He's a good guy, with a good sense of humor and a cool British accent. Take him!

Wow! What an absolute professional! I can't believe that there is anyone that is actually stupid enough to not go to each and every one of his classes! Of course, you can only imagine what type of cretin would pass up the opportunity to hear this professor speak if only for one last time. No one has quite the ability and enthusiasm that he does!

There is no question about it: Dr. Rubins is the best professor you're ever going to find. Sure, you've got to go to class to learn but then again, you need to go to McDonalds to eat, right? If you just read the written notes, well you have just missed the best professor that you could ever have hoped to have.
