Comment:

Prof. Lyon is a great teacher. She cares about the subject and her students. This class is super easy as well. The only point I have is that if you don't show up to every lecture, you won't get an A. There are a lot of small in-class activities that affect your grade. They are fun but not necessary to learn. Def take her but learn from my mistake.

Comment:

I took Lyon's historical geology class. Expected the class to be very dull. However, professor Lyon adds in a lot of dry humor to her lectures, which made lectures not too bad. Most of the homework assigned is multiple choice. The majority of your grade comes from the tests. Usually she does 3 tests and its best to get small study groups.

I absolutely loved Professor Lyon. I was very nervous about taking a science class because it's my least favorite subject, but she is very easy, I passed with an A. She literally gives you the questions to the tests and lab quizzes on her review sheet, but you must study. Labs are quick and painless, 50 question multiple choice, she helps you!

Professor Lyon is amazing! She is an outstanding professor, definitely knows how to teach future prospective teachers how to approach ways of teaching science to students in an engaging manner. She is very fun & funny and makes science a fun learning experience! A must have Professor!!!

Excellent Teacher. Since this was an online course, I was glad she made herself available, including office hours. She encourages her students and takes the time to help them understand the material. Some of the tests were hard but she provided bonus questions and also ways to earn extra credits.

Excellent instructor, very helpful. Very clear and easy to follow. She tells you a you need to know and study for the tests. The museum and planetarium fieldtrips were fun and informative. I am glad that I took her class!

Great Geology teacher, is very helpful and knowledgeable on the subject. She often makes the experience visual and has a large mineral collection. This course served as great introduction to the field of Geology without being too overwhelming.

This is an awesome class!! Sharon really helps her students all that she can. She almost always has some type of activity in class to help make you understand the concept she is trying to get across. I highly recommend this class of you need a science class!!!!

Great Teacher, take her! She was very nice and helpful. For earth and space science class definately invest the $25 in the study guide. My friend and I did all the reviews in the study guide and we aced her tests. There are alternatives to the field trips, I did the alternatives and went to D.C. the answers were there on the wall, it was easier.

Very very easy teacher. I don't get A's in science, ever. Yet I managed to with her. She prints out her powerpoints for you, and gives a review sheet of exactly what you need to know for the test. And if you miss class, she is very flexible with you making work up. Great teacher, great class.

Professor Lyon was one of the best teachers at HCC-trust me, good teachers at HCC are far and few in between, but she is one of the best! Always willing to help and the tests are very straight forward-multiple choice! You will never regret taking a class from her!
