Comment:
This prof. really does NOT care about his students. I tried asking him for help on any extra credit options and he literally just said "just study, and dont worry about it". a bit rude and overall boring. lastly he struggles to do the problems. Feels like he is learning with you.

Enns is a very nice guy but he is an old school type of person. For grades, he ONLY grades you by the 3 tests and final you take in the semester. He will knock off the lowest test to determine the overall grade you got for the class. If you get this professor and are not very good at math be prepared to be at the math tutoring place almost everyday

The structure of this course is very straightforward: 4 exams, the lowest gets dropped. But, you need to study. Don't rely on him or tutoring to assist you. You need to read the material. If you are taking this class for the first time and have not taken math in a while, then you will need to read from the beginning because he will skip around.

Upsides: very laid back, nothing phases him, patiently answers Qs Downsides: mumbles towards board; does not remind students of old math rules applied to new concepts (jumps straight to it); does not emphasize main concepts for distinguishing between concepts, very poor e-mail communicator; lacks teaching strategies that ensure memorization

A lot of students don't get this guy. He's not there to entertain you, you're there to learn calculus. His exam study guides tell you exactly what to know, he is always willing to answer questions, and he is pretty fair in giving partial credit on exams. I didn't love this class experience but I learned calculus, good enough for me.

This professor overexplains making simple mathematical concepts complicated. Tests are nothing like the homework. If you have any difficulties with math DO NOT take his class. Terrible lectures he basically talks to you like the textbook. Grades are based on the exams. Class size will significantly shrink by the end of the first week. Good luck

tough lectures, he seems to have a hard time explaining the lower level math and tends to over complicate the problems. His grades are based on exams and 1 final, He drops the lowest exam grade, homework is optional (recomended) He has a study guide for his exams, if you can do all the problems from the study guide you're almost guaranteed to pass

Professor Enns, is a nice guy. He is a very smart guy, but he looses three quarters of the class on the first week. You then have too self teach for the rest of the semester or get a tutor. He gives a study guide a week before the test, but problems are much harder and on top of that he gives little to no partial credit on a 10 question test.

if this is one of your final classes to transfer to a 4 year university. do not take this instructor. he pretty much speaks how your textbook is read and doesnt change throughout the semester. 4 test with no extra credit and he doesnt help with homework. look for another person that can help explain because he doesn't do it

Comment:
Professor Enns does not clearly teach the lectures. He is a hard grader, and runs through all the lessons extremely fast. The only people passing are the people who took Calc before or who are cheating. If you have no choice but to take him, you need a tutor. He is willing to talk in his office hours, but he does not deviate from his syllabus.

Comment:
Professor Enns was't very clear in his teaching methods. He would go back and forth between two ways of solving a problem. Also, he has a hard time articulating what he is trying to say. The class was basically me teaching myself which isn't the point of college. Don't take this class.

His tests were only 10 questions long, 4 tests per semester, lowest grade is dropped. That said, they weren't easy, they weren't even like the examples we went over in class! They were a lot harder and partial credit was slim, you get zero points for a correct answer if you do not do they exact method and steps he wants! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

I completely regret signing up for his class. Does not really help you and would often make mistakes when showing how to do problems on the board.

Enns class is difficult and can seem daunting when you first attend. He is a terrible public speaker and very nervous but passing this class is still possible. I thought I was terrible at math but passed this class, with an A. You must attend lectures, he tells you whats going to be on the tests. Enns is a nice guy; do not listen to everyone else,

I have so much respect for professor Enns. He is smart, helpful, and will help you if you are willing to learn. However, he does have trouble speaking to a big class. Just do your homework ( though he never checks ), study your stuff. 4 tests but he drops your lowest one. Easy A. Those who rates down just because they are lazy and got an F!

He really is a decent, kind, and smart guy....he talks more to the chalkboard than the class and is VERY hard to follow. Better just skip class and learn on your own and come back during review and test time. Gives good study guides (with example questions) & grades on a curve.

you would want him for a grandfather NOT a professor! he's easy only b/c you don't do homework and he tells you everything that's on the test the day before! he makes A LOT of mistakes in class so make sure you use pencil when writing your notes! class is SO boring but if you study you can get an A (study groups are better than the class)
