Class is boring, just him going on and on about everything he believes. You try to argue with him or ask a quesiton and he shoots you down. Demanding and asks too much. I am a straight A student but failing his class. He called me stupid in front of others.

Recommend him. Read every chapter (he wrote his own book) every week and answer the questions, he collects them every week the first 10 min of class (it will also help you as a study guide. Watch the news, he will ask for current events. One paper (rough draft will be turned in first, he will grade it and tell you what you will roughly get).

This online class was pretty easy overall. 1 paper, 4 tests, weekly chapter questions and a weekly current event posting. He is a strong liberal democrat so be ready for his view points.... His tests are word for word from his book.

Provides his own book, don't need to buy anything for class. Some chapters are short, others are really long. Make sure you read in a timely manner. Discussion questions every week. One paper due (a rough draft too if you want to count it by midterm) by the end of semester. Four tests taken on campus. Watch out for questions, some are confusing!

Professor Byrnes is a very intelligent and patient teacher. He admits to being extremely liberal, but he will not try and push his bias. He wrote the text for this class. It is well written and free! All test/ HW questions come directly from the text. Not the easiest class in the world, but very informative. He is always willing to help after class

Do not take this class if you want an A. I did everything i could possibly do to get an A an still got a B. He wrote:" you'll get an A on your paper for your effort" when I got an A because my paper was an A paper. He is very narrow minded and his tests are riduculous. True/false poorly made, good if you want a C in class. Not if you want an A.

Do not take this class if you think outside the box. The prof. is extremely left wing liberal and very bias to his own beliefs. If you question or bring about other viewspoints, those views are deemed unacceptable. I regret taking this class and should have listened to the other ratings. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS, WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Very great Professor!Teaches from his own book, which is really unexpensive (around $9).You have to take 3 tests with multiple choice and one essay answer question for each test+ do one critical thinking evaluation paper which wasn't so hard to do. Overall, I recommend this professor! Take him!!!

Okay, I just finished taking his course and came out with a B. It was very frustrating because his questions are worded very wierd. If you ask him a question, it appears that he has a hard time getting his words together. He DOES NOT explain well, at all. His book is quite interesting,(he wrote it himself) you must participate in the class discussi

LOTS of reading and discussion posts for this online class. 3 tests at 75 ?'s each and they are HARD!! I studied for hours and never made higher than a B on them. 1 paper that is easy but ALOT of work. take someone else for an easy A as he is not easy no matter what grade you want. I did learn a lot though and he was helpful when asked.

Prof. Byrnes is a nice guy, who writes his own textbook. I took the online course, and it wasn't difficult except for the writing assignments. He assigns "evaluations" of short articles that are not the easiest to write. He just has very complex expectations in these evaluations. There are many discussion postings, and exams are taken on campus.
