Dr. Fleming is a good professor, and the class is pretty easy. The class is in the planetarium and he uses the full dome which is pretty cool. He takes attendance everyday, so go to class. Overall, pretty easily class

Really easy grader, especially with the papers. The review sessions are super helpful for the tests, which can be a little hard. He does curve the class at the end of the semester though.

HW is worth alot of points, so if you fail tests you will be okay. Clicker "participation" every day so show up. He is very sweet and learns your name and remembers things about you. Paper are easy and fun.

Dr. Fleming is the best! Homework is almost 50% of your grade so it is easy to do well in the course. He actually learns the names of his students to show how serious he is about the class. His lectures are bearable and he is overall a great guy.

He would always surround himself with women, dont know if there was something deeper than that; but all of his students he would personally know were women. Along with his TAs be all women. Also he would eye up women when talking to them.

Professor Fleming is amazing. He is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. He genuinely wants everyone to succeed. He has class in the planetarium which makes lectures very cool. The content can be difficult, but he explains it really well and is always willing to help. He is my absolute favorite professor I have had.

Took this class as a gen ed, and I was not disappointed. Professor genuinely cares about his students and wants you to learn. Homework is very useful sometimes. Makes good use of the full dome projector to show some mind blowing things. Tests can be tough at times but if you just do the work and study you'll be fine. Cheat sheets allowed on tests.

This class was amazing! Professor Fleming is an amazing teacher who truly cares about his students. He has so much enthusiasm and passion for what he's teaching that it makes you excited to learn. His class is in the planetarium too so the lectures are so cool. All the assignments are online and super easy & theres extra credit every week too!

If you have ever had any fascination about Astronomy, take this course! You will learn so much and if you already have some understanding of the solar system/space you will find yourself an easy A. Dr. Fleming is a true gem of professors and will get to personally know you and everyone in the class. Plenty of extra credit as well!

Dr. Fleming is truly one of the best professors I've ever had and he has the best gen ed. He cares about students so much and learns everyone's name in a class of 100+. There is an online homework assignment each week, but lots of extra credit. Not going to lie, you can't sleep through this class to pass, but he makes it so interesting! Take this!!

Ok Im going to be 100% honest here Fam ! So to be real this class is hard for a Gen Ed. Fleming is a really funny, dedicated and respected man. He truly cares and takes the time to learn all of his students names. But I found the class to be hard for a gen ed. Its a lot of work, if you want an easy Gen Ed this is not that class for you lol !

I have taken a lot of really amazing classes at the UA, but this class was truly inspirational. A clicker is required and you have to buy the hw, but it was definitely worth it. Dr. Fleming is an amazing professor and he wants his students to do well. I am even taking another one of his classes next semester!

I absolutely loved this class-such a cool & funny guy. It's obvious that he cares about his students- he knew me by name! The best part of the class is that it's in the planetarium so he'd present in the full dome. so cool. I got a lot of hw, kinda hard tests(doesn't affect grade too much), 10 page paper(i only wrote 6 & still got 100%). good class

I adore this professor! He made me sign up to become an astronomy Minor because he inspired me so much. He is a tough grader and assigns a lot of work but his class is absolutely great. It's hard to find professors so passionate about what they do and Dr. Fleming is no exception. I would take it over and over again.

Comment:

In the first week, Tom will mention that he assigns more homework than most teachers. Don't let this scare you. The homework is easy enough and there's extra credit. If you go to class and pay attention, you won't have any trouble at all. Tom is very helpful and it definitely helps to have a professor that loves what he does. Definitely recommend!
