Comment:
If you didn't take honors cal 1 and had no experience with calculus before college (pre-cal doesn't count), then don't take honors cal 2. Back to Liem. I like him but he shouldn't be teaching cal 2 honors. He is a sweet guy but he is very soft-spoken with a class of 30 and the lectures were not interesting except for the times he kicks chairs.

Very dry lecturer and hard to understand. Quizzes were only theoretical and lots of homework every week. But if you attended class every day and only missed 2 times you got to replace your lowest test grade with your final exam grade.

His accent takes some getting used to and he's a very quiet lecturer, but he is very clear regardless. There's a lot of homework but it's really kind of a good thing because it ensures you get lots of practice. He's so-so on partial credit but does award it sometimes. Tests are straightforward and he posts useful practice material on Blackboard.

Weekly quizzes are very easy if you follow instructions. He drops lowest 25%. Only grades are a midterm, final, attendance, and weekly quizzes. Very doable class. Go to office hours. Lectures are super boring. Learned everything from textbook.

Dr. Liem is a really nice man, but his lectures are a bit lacking. He compiles the textbook chapters into PowerPoint presentations and uploads them to Blackboard, but the actual lecture itself is pointless. Weekly quizzes worth 35% of your grade and attendance worth 10%. I often worked on different assignments in the back of the classroom.

Comment:
Vo is pretty boring, but I found watching him kick into the desk sitting in the front of the classroom about 10 times per class rather amusing. Sometimes he would be working a problem and suddenly stop and move on. Doesn't really matter who you take for MATH 302 to be honest. Curved grades at end of semester by a few points.

Very all over the place, which isn't good for a math professor. Forgets to hand out attendance and does math problems at his own pace and without explanation, leaving students in the dust. His accent is heavy, but easy to get used to. However, because of his limited english there is no way for you to argue back points on a test or quiz

I made an A+ in Cal 1&2. Vo teaches in theory and is very soft spoken with decent English. The hw is very long and there is a lot of it. He gives an old test and a study guide but neither really help. His lectures are too high level, do not relate to hw, and the tests are problems he makes up that relate zero to class or hw. He is tough.

I can't understand why some people don't like him. His lecture is very logic and helpful to understand materials. His test is not bad at all as long as you study.

Terrible. You cant understand him and he doesn't even know how to work WebAssign or Blackboard. Very thick accent with very poor English. Don't take him unless you want to teach yourself.

Very good teacher. He's soft spoken but takes amazing notes. He is the best drawer ever for a math instructor. His test are exactly like the old ones that he gives out and he gives bonus on every test!

Dr. Vo is the sweetest old man! His lectures can be a little dull at times but they are incredibly informative and are indicative what his tests will be like. Gives study guides and practice tests for all tests including the final!

Not nearly as easy as expected. Had to teach myself the course material because he is not only hard to understand, but also does not explain things well at all. He provides old tests as study material, but sneaks in several unexpected problems. He is known for giving wrong answers in study guides without even realizing it. Take someone else.

He's a wonderful, sweet man but he can be hard to understand at times. His test are hard because the proofs are VERY specific, but if you take detailed notes, complete the homework, and read the examples in the text book, it's manageable.

I have him for Calculus III. He would give 5 extra points on any tests and expected HW every Monday. His accent will get better when you are used to it and try to sit at the front. Very lenient on partial credits. He is quite funny sometime.
