Comment:

Old man that reminds me of the movie "UP", Mr Ferguson. But he has alot of real life experience from previous jobs and they are entertaining. Online quizes were easy as hell but the 2 midterms, 1 was a takehome group, I both failed, and there is a group project with presentation and final. Managed to get a C in the class, so I am a happy camper.

Comment:

Two exams (one is online) and a comprehensive final. The final is open book/notes. A lot of his exam questions come directly from the powerpoint, but there's a LOT of information on the powerpoint. He also has a huge group project where you have to select and solve a work problem with your team. He also has group case studies and quizzes.

He is ridiculous. If you can avoid this class at a scheduled time of 1 day a week for 3 hours AVOID IT!! He's so boring and makes stupid jokes. I'm not sure he is EVER on topic. Also reign in your group RIGHT away because it's a large part of your grade.

Comment:

Teacher is great. He's definitely a goober, but a nice guy. Class is a bit difficult, so make sure you trust your team. He gives very concrete criticism on the final project, but isn't too clear on what he wants in the homeworks. Pay very close attention to the powerpoint lectures, he babbles something here and there that might be on the test.

VERY DIFFICULT CLASS. The professor tries to make jokes which always seem to fail. Pay attention to participation grade because he gave me a 60 yet others in my group who didn't say anything got an 80. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SOLID GROUP VERY IMPORTANT!!!! I would NOT take him again. Very Knowledgeable but not a great Professor in my opinion.

Comment:

Very knowledgable and nice man. I agree that we need more profs like Zenda. Tough class with tough concepts, but his level of experience with the subject matter is exceptional and that was very apparent. I had to work my tail off for an A-, but it was worth it.

4 online quizs, 4 case studies that was done with your group, a take home quiz also done with your group, 2 mid terms and a final, along with the group DMAIC project. He updates all your grades on Blackboard so you'll always know what you're getting in the class. Zenda is a fair grader though and his exams are open book.

Textbook must be read carefully to understand concepts. This will also allow you to remember where certain facts were during the open book exams. Tests aren't that difficult if you know how to use the table of contents and index along with common sense. Recommend if you want to be challenged. Prof is organized and very compentent of the subject.

His slides are useless. Really you need to just rely on the book and the examples he gives in class. You will be tested on items not full taught and he is no where near as clear as he could be. He makes the class more difficult than it should be. His lectures don't fully cover what's on the tests.

A great instructor! Actually remembers what it's like to be a student. The book is needed as this is where most of the m/c test questions come from. There is a group project that is a bit difficult but Prof. Zenda is very fair in his grading.

Great teacher, we need more like this one at CSUF. If you can get into the class, you will not be disappointed. Easy to understand and good grading. Have a good semester!
