Good guy but i didn't like him as a professor, you have to type a 12 page paper that isn't the easiest thing to do on top of a few other papers. If you don't have to take him don't, if you have to just make sure you don't mess up the main paper

Comment:

An interesting fellow to say the least, very helpful and very direct in his expectations. He is an extremely hard marker. Achieving an 'A' in the class is not impossible, but requires a lot of effort. The individuals who do poorly are the ones who rate him poorly, because they are too lazy to put any effort into his class.

Excellent teacher, very nit-picky but provides excellent examples and is very clear in his expectations. Very interesting character as well. Effort is required in his assignments, obviously you will do poorly if you do it last minute. He gives examples as a guideline, not for you to plagiarize- you are marked accordingly. Very funny guy as well

I took this class my first year, thinking I could get it out of the way but I was definitley wrong in thinking it would be a blow off English class. He recommends this class only for juniors/seniors & I do too. Long research projects but he's more than willing to help. Attend class on days when he's explaining projects, or you'll probably be lost.

If you like taking a class with a teacher who does not care about his students or their grades this is the teacher for you. He was totally useless it lecture, all he did was ramble about the papers you are writing with no aid to the students. It is impossible to get an A in his class, DO NOT TAKE HIM, HE SUCKS AS A TEACHER!!

This is by far the worst english teacher that I've had in my entire life. He can hardly speak proper english, and he grades all projects and papers rediculously hard. I will never take him again and I won't suggest him to ANYONE!

Dr. Kantar is pretty good at explaining what needs to be done on written assignments & is more than willing to offer help. However, he is pretty picky on grading so follow his advice. Definately not a blow off class! There are also no tests or exams

Dr. Kantar is so wonderful. He actually makes literature a pleasant experience. Offers lots of ideas to write about and gives fun assignments for all students to enjoy. He is a very personable guy and has a great sense of humor! Highly recommended!

The defination of obtuse doesn't even come close to this persons behavior towards students. Take someone else for this course.
