Calling Dr Farouk a teacher is like calling a butcher a brain surgeon. Sure, they're both meat but in the end one gets cooked while the other goes on to think another day.

Comment:

Dr. Farouk taught using power point slides that were screenshots of the text book. I liked that he actually solved problems on the blackboard but he was often unprepared and couldn't finish the problem or explain the procedure. Much class time was wasted fiddling with the computer and the projector. When approached for help, he was very responsive.

Gas Dynamics - He teaches his lectures through slides, which are usually incomplete or missing data, assigns hw but does not check or go over it. Gives you tests and quizzes that you WILL be unprepared for, doesn't give adequate time for tests.Tests are NOT open book, 1 page notes. Asked advice on how to improve- his response, "Sink or swim"

Dr. Farouk is great. His lecture slides are a little boring, but he doesn't include all the calculus he goes over on the exams. Everything is open book, so just write everything you think you need to know in the front cover. If you pay a little attention in class, and read all the chapters, you'll be fine. Also, he sang a Rolling Stones song once..
