It really irks me when he goes around the room and tells people what they can and cannot do, because of their "skill level". I've had him for several classes, and I would always draw out what he wanted, then work at home to create my own vision. He's an easy grader and super nice (if he likes you), but I ignore what he says when it comes to art.

I don't know if I would take another one of his classes, but he is an okay professor. I did learn a lot in his class and my drawings skills improved! But he can be very harsh and say mean things, which makes the class kind of unenjoyable. But his projects are interesting and overall he is a pretty nice old man. Just critical!

Im in an Intro to drawing class. he makes it so hard, i dont have any drawing experience at all and yes, some of his advice and assignments are helpful, but he can be really blunt and rude! He embarrassed me really bad in front of the whole class because i didnt understand how he was explaining an assignment. He is cranky 98% of the time!

DO NOT TAKE HIM!! He does not offer any technique to make your art better, but rather tells you how to do it a certain way and the way he likes it. Take Mosher if you can.

His teaching method is a bit outdated. He definitely did not make this class fun or interesting in any way. Quite argumentative. Sometimes rude. He assumes no one knows how to draw, and tries to control YOUR artwork, which I did not appreciate at all.

This guy rocks for being super old. He was helpful and was cool with you missing classes as long as you had your work done. He gets mad sometimes, but it's like dealing with your grandpa. You have to respect him and let him talk. He really knows what he is doing.

Nice old guy teaching. He is one of the cooler art teachers I've had at SVSU. He is really helpful and loves to teach. If you get your work done and do good, he doesn't care if you miss classes. He can get mad, but is usually real laid back. He rocks for being super old.

Horrible. He does not let you be creative in your own way, he does not like white space or unbalanced work, he makes your opinion for you, if it's not what he considers art - then it's not art, he has issues with color and won't let you use what you want, very judgemental. Mean and rude, wishy-washy.

I thought this class was great, he told me in the beginning I couldn't do well because of my broken hand... but I proved him wrong and won his respect in the end. I plan on taking Printmaking asa a direct study in a year now, and making it my medium for my BFA. He was very helpful, and offered a lot of advice.. if he liked you.

ok the man does have issues& does treat intro students like they're 5 @first,but w/ any prof give him time get2know him,pay attention& u will grow on him and vice versa.he almost made me cry in the begining but by the end of the sem. i was so happy w/ my work & he was as well.he can be funny too i'd take him again he was challenge builds character!

He's very snobby and plays favorites. He degrades his students and will not allow for any creative expression. Sometimes he will just yell at one person in front of the whole class, and he has a very bad temper. After I took this course, I don't even care about art anymore.
