Comment:
Professor Davis has the best lectures ever. She teaches history like its a story and talks slow enough for everyone to write down plenty of notes. Her tests consist pretty much of all the notes but make sure you study your notes inside and out cause the test answers are wordy. I would also read the book to fully grasp all the information.

Only had two assignments: Exam #1 and #2. She just read off her slides and made us teach ourselves. Gave us a ton of reading and wasn't available outside of class. Once we switched to online she was even more uninvolved in the class. Didn't make an effort to teach the material and gave no room for error. I don't recommend this teacher.

This class consisted of 4 tests, but the professor dropped the lowest grade. There were no homework assignments and she stated that attendance counted as part of your grade, but it never did. This professor took almost a month to grade every test. She does not like to be emailed or bothered and is very rude when you do so. Very easy class tho!

3 exams and a paper assignment. As long as you have a general understanding of the subject matter you'll be fine. She gives study guides for each of the 3 exams, so if you review that/know those topics, its an Easy A. She cancels a few times which is nice

Davis is brilliant & should seriously have a podcast! But for a lower division GE class, her tests here extremely difficult and random, making it hard to prepare for. She lectures in a storytelling style that was interesting. Write down EVERY thing she says and study her opinions and the obscure facts. 5 start class if the tests were more clear.

Professor Davis has some of the most interesting lectures! She has so much experience as a historian that she has very interesting stories to tell. It is extremely important to take notes during her lectures because the tests are made from the content of her lectures and not very much of the textbook.

Yes, you do have to come to class and take notes the entire time, but her lectures are broad so the questions on the test are not in depth, just the general idea. If you take good notes and study them for tests, you will do completely fine. 3 tests total (curved), 1 easy 6 page paper (follow directions), and extra credit (DO IT) brought me up 5%.

While Professor Davis was a kind lady, her class was not my favorite. She missed class ALOT with little warning. For the entire class, Davis lectures with poorly made slides. I recommend bringing a laptop 4 notes because she goes fast. If you truly pay attention in class you'll do fine on the tests. Didn't even study for one and I set the curve.

This class is tough. You must listen. You must show up. You must care. Knowing this.. This woman is incredibly competent and knows her material. It killed me getting an A in this class when I took it, but it's a feel-good, "HEY I worked my ass off for this A." ANYWAYS If you like history and you want to be challenged, Mob. Davis is there for you.

Worst professor! AVOID! I asked for clarification on a few topics and she got MAD and responded saying she can't repeat lecture. Her tests are impossible. Most of the questions are trick questions. It's impossible to take notes as fast as she talks&you must write everything down & memorize it all for the tests. My 4.0 might be ruined by this class

Class is graded off of a few things, three tests and a paper. Gives extra credit but didn't seem to help my grade much. Really good at lecturing though, every class was interesting.

you NEED to go to class because the notes are what the 3 tests are based out of. its beneficial to read the chapters because some stuff isnt fully explained so it can be difficult. the essay isnt too hard you dont need to be amazing at it. do the extra credit it seems annoying and dumb but its so worth it

Professor Davis is a very kind and caring woman. She can be strict with grading, but with the lack of structure in many college classes these days, it really is nice to see how she sets fine standards. In order to get an A, you will need to do your part and study her lecture notes and study guide. Overall, she is a great professor.

B. Davis was ok, but I've had better professors at Saddleback. Her lectures were interesting but sometimes she would play videos that were hard to stay awake to. She would also treat the class like it was high school and get mad if you left to use the bathroom. However as long as you take really good notes you should be able to pass the class.

Bring a laptop to class to take note, all tests are from lectures. She provides a study guide at the beginning of each section so you can follow along and be sure to know what she wants you to know.. 3 Tests graded on a curve and 1 paper, but it was just analyzing documents, no research needed. Follow the guidelines for paper and you are gold!

If you take this class, make sure you can write notes fast. Her tests weren't easy. Make sure you write everything down she says in class and study a lot! The tests have very tricky wording. Probably one of the more stressful classes I've taken at saddleback. You have 3 tests and one 10 page paper.

The class is nothing but lecture. Her lecturing style is a little different. She mostly talks aloud with only pictures/maps on the board. So be prepared to listen closely. I didn't use the book either. Three tests with one term paper. The term paper takes time, but it actually ended up being rather interesting. Nice professor and nice class.

This was an enjoyable and easy class. There was one easy paper (didn't require any research) and three tests. If you know everything on the study guides and show up to class, you'll be totally fine. Class was a little slow, but not bad. You can tell that Professor Davis really loves American history, and she's very approachable and nice.

I'm not a history fan, but I learned a lot from this class. She lectures the whole time but it is usually interesting and she adds some of her own cool stories. She has good study guides for the three exams (not cumulative) and if you take notes and study them you should be fine. There is also a 5-10 page paper and an optional extra credit essay.
