People give him alot of crap during class, and I find it really disrespectful. I went to his office hours once, and he's a really nice guy. Class is really easy, tests are VERY SIMILAR to practice exams. Make sure you do the homework as well. Hamzi isn't that bad!! He just needs to have better public speaking skills

i had him for mat16b and he isn't as bad as people make him out to be. although he is pretty hard to understand, if you took calculus in high school then it will help a lot. the tests are A LOT like his practice exams. so if you just do the homework(10% of grade) and make sure you know how to do the practice exams then you should be fine.

Very hard to understand during lectures and his writing is hard to read. He is willing to answer all fo your questions though. I do think he wants to help people, he just has a hard time. Homework was usually pretty easy, as were the tests. They are only easy if you go to his class and do the homework, otherwise the subject matter is too hard.

Only take this class if you are a good independent worker, his accent and handwriting made lectures almost worthless (audible learners beware) and he often seemed confused about questions the class was asking. Study the practice exams! Class not curved till after final, which is stressful.

Too easy. The only part you have to try a little harder at is the homework. I almost feel like the exams should have been a little more challenging. The final left me a little underwhelmed. I only went to his OH once, & that was a special time right before the final, & he was an hour late. I never went to his other OH because they were too early.

The easiest math teacher at Davis. I don't know why people are saying he is hard. His practice exams are identical to his actual exams. He just changes the numbers. You could never go to class, study the practice exams, and get an A. Thats what I did. He is also a very nice guy. His accent is a little hard to understand, but hes cool. Boumediene!!!

i got a c- in this class because he was so unclear. it sucks because i knew the material. I retook the class while taking 16b, and ended up with A's in 16a, 16b and 16c. moral of the story, avoid this awful teacher. also of note, he thought our class was made up entirely of math majors, despite the fact it was 16 series.
