I thought she was a fanstastic teacher: she is always a straight shooter, always to the point and didn't waste any time during class. She's very sympathetic but she won't hesitate to discipline. Basically her middle name is "No-BS". Expect to come out of a class with her learning something about the real world!

I love her! She does cancel class on occasion because she has severe arthritis in her legs and it flares up at any time. She gives us help whenever we need it and even though sometimes class is by the book, it really helps.

She was a nice lady but cancelled class a lot on short notice. Tests are near impossible, there were no As on the first test in the whole class. She grades fairly easy on speeches as long as you follow the guidelines. Expect a B. Very tough to get an A.

i thought she was ok...it was just power point the whole time, a breeze really, just that grading i thought i would do good, but then it would come back with a B on it...when i thought i was confident and clear...my own fault i guess. OH! and with any COMS class the tests are hard! because of the way they are worded! STUDY!!!

Papers are easy, tests suck. Grades hard I missed A's on everything by about 2 points puhlease! By the way her name is Helena not Christina. Everyone flunked the final as well so beware. I got a C but if she would have given me my A's on the papers I'd be fine, but noooo. Stay away if you can.

She is definitely one of the worst teachers I've had in my 4 years here at NIU. She often talks about her personal life, and is an unfair grader with respect to tests and speeches. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Avoid this teacher unless you're a hardcore speaker... she's very tough on grading; too tough for a 100-level course in my opinion. Its hard enough to speak publicly but this woman makes it 10 times harder and adds more stress to the class.

Made the class way too hard for a 100 level gened. Talked too much about her distraught personal life. Graded papers/speeches way to hardcore for a 100 level class. Not a nice teacher, and avoid at all costs.
