Jou Law/Ethics--If you were a slacker, you'd hate the class. If you were conscientious, you'd be scared. Difficult class/Excellent prof/Hard Tests. If you earned an A, you worked really hard. He graded the test exactly by the lecture/material presented. If you missed anything, you didn't get partial credit.

Professor Martinson retired a number of years ago. He was very interested in mass media law and especially mass media ethics. He attempted to use ethics examples that were relevant to students.

I was actually afraid to take Martinson being that I heard from more than one person that he was horrible, couldn't speak loud enough and picked on students. But to tell you the truth, I think he has been one of the best professors I've had because he was very challenging. He was helpful, and let you know what to study for the tests.

not very helpful in the beginning but, in the later part of the course he starts helping a bit. However, at least he tells you exactly what is on the test. Which is a very big help.

This class was super duper hard. What's funny is that when I passed with an A- I was really proud of myself. It's an A that dosen't come eazy, but you must work at it.

Martinson is great. Anyone who says other wise only says so because they are slackers. What do you go to school for if not to study? Hes an awesome teacher. Sure hes a little old and senile but he knows his stuff. Youll learn a lot.

This was not a good experience. He talks so low that people in the front row have difficulty hearing him! Tests are very long and cover so much material! A lot of the material he gave in class wasn't even on the test! You have to know pretty much every supreme court case regarding journalism to do well.

He's so cute and he knows his law. You only have to worry about taking tests, there are no assignments or extra credit. If you are looking for a free ride or easy teacher, be scared, but if you want to learn and don't have a tendency to miss lectures, then he is for you. He gives additional notes outside from the prescribed text, so its good to att

The class is hard but passable. If you study and I mean really study, you will pass the test, which are long and mostly fill in the blank. One of the only classes at FIU where I have really learned something.

I did not understand a word this guy said. His speech is so muffled it's extremely difficult to understand him. Tests are insanely long and hard, and deducts for the tiniest things. I'll never quite understand how I passed.

This teacher is an **** - he is demeaning and he has horrible quirks that are offensive to students. I dont like him at all. He gives no credit to our generation and I truly believe he dislikes all students.

Perhaps the best teacher you'll ever have. Certainly the most ethical. However, you will NEVER have harder tests... not because of the subject matter, but rather, the design. His tests are 75 short essay questions. Yes, 75! You'll need the entire 3 hours to finish.

Defines what every professor should be like, interesting, motivating and honest. Does not give grades away so when you get an A, you know you've truly earned it. Does not spoil students with all the extra credit crap - I appreciate that!!! Great class, I learned a great deal!!!

Dr. Martinson is a great professor. I came into the class not caring about the subject at all and I leave it with a full appreciation. The material is extremely interesting and really gets your mind thinking. He tells you EXACTLY what will be on tests so those who fail just don't study! Great class!

Mumbles a lot, but is genuinely knowledgeable about his Law history. Tests are MURDER, but if you go to class and take good notes, you should be AOK.
