Comment:

Dorothy is a very intelligent women, as it is evident that she is passionate about teaching. However, it was very difficult to understand her lectures as they were presented in a very chaotic manor, and they were very hard to keep track of. It is very hard to follow along to her lectures, and to understand what is important in the material.

She is very kind and cares about her students. Can tell she is very into the topic she speaks about, and is very helpful when you need. Class is sometimes boring and you feel like she isn't teaching much material. TA's are AWESOME! i suggest going to tutorial, as the readings WILL be on the exam. isn't too hard if you put somewhat effort.

she is a sweet lady. very smart and does interesting research and also brings up interesting studies in class. she often uses direct quotes from individuals which is super helpful in understanding other perspectives of people. you can ask her any question and she will help you! some of the textbook readings she assigns is also part of the lecture

I've taken a few of her courses. Soc2c6 was the first. She is my favorite prof from Mac because she is a fantastic person, and is passionate about teaching & research. Rearrange your courses so you take a course of hers.

I found her exams to be really easy. If you did your readings in a timely manner, and not leave everything right before the exam, there is no reason, one should get less than 80%. A lot of people get low marks on her exams, but I think it's because people don't keep up with the readings. She never tricks you on the multiple choice. Very fair prof.
