Best Musicianship teacher I've ever had. Really hilarious! I was always sleeping in his class, but not cause he was boring. He helped everyone. It sucks that he's actually gone. We have all these annoying, self-absorbed teachers now.

Dr. Tamar really knows what he's talking about. He's an intelligent person and expects students to do outside work. The class is really hard if you have no prior theory background, but if you do, you should be okay if you do all the work.

Tamar is absolutely hilarious. I have a list of ridiculous quotes straight from his mouth in class. His tests are difficult without prior knowledge, but if you already know the material, it will be easy. He makes learning theory fun but there are times when class is boring. I wouldn't suggest testing out of this class. Bohemian Rhapsody is worth it

Dr. Tamar is an invaluable asset to the music school. Every music student needs to take his musicianship class (don't test out of it!). His wit is hilarious and his level of discipline is high but essential for learning all of the material covered. He is a great man who seems aloof but will definitely help you when needed.

Dr. Tamar taught me a lot about my potential as a student. There were times when I could have used more help, but it was easy to get in touch with him to ask for more assistance. He was an overall good professor.

tamar is one of the best teachers i've ever had. he doesn't explain everything, it's his teaching technique. he expects you to learn things for yourself - like a true musician would. he's really funny and an incredible musician.

Tamar is great...he is funny and interesting and really knows his stuff. Even though I took 3 years of theory before I came to Duquesne, 2 of them being AP, I opted to stay in Musicianship I and I am glad I did. I am still learning things from this class in different ways than I did before and it is going to benefit me when I reach the upper levels

Interesting... I'm glad to hear he's doing better. I had him the first year and he was very rude, abrupt, and unclear. At least, to certain people he was.

He isn't easy, but you learn a lot from him, and if you go out of your way to see him outside of class, he can be one of the best mentors you could have. People complain because he's hard, but that's how he learned, so it's how he expects us to learn.

I don't know if I would give this one a smiley face... he tries, but is very disorganized, and not too clear... plus the tests suck... unfortunately, if you're a freshman music major, you're stuck with him... sorry
