Comment:

Always willing to go the extra mile to help students. Very passionate about teaching which makes lectures more enjoyable. She assigns a lot of homework but it contributes greatly to your understanding of the material and provides a nice grade buffer. One of the best professors I've had at this school.

Comment:

Very good at teaching. Lectures are usually engaging and easy to understand. However, the ending of the year she became unclear and it was a lot harder to pass. There is a lot of homework with connect and ALEKS, but completely worth it because it preps well for exams. Class is also pre-curved.

Her lectures are all over the place and she gives you a ton of homework. Her exams are pretty much the homework for the most part. Overall, would not recommend if you want to learn Chemistry instead of just getting a good grade.

GREAT Professor!! Keeps the subject interesting because of her passion for it. She is super energetic every class and is readily available to help students who want it. I would consider taking another chem class just to have her again!

Dr. Y is an amazing person. She is so helpful and wants you to ask questions. But the class is really hard. She expects you to spend 6-8 hrs outside of class studying. And trust me if you don't you will not pass. She does break down stuff but she just expects ALOT and her tests are impossible. But I still love her.

Take this prof! She is always upbeat and peppy in lecture, and she does a ton of different things like powerpoints, examples, demonstrations and others so that you understand the material. Exams aren't bad at all, just study and go to class because she gives group quizzes. Take this prof!

She is a wonderful professor. VERY passionate about chemistry. I learned so much about this subject. She wants you to do very well in her class. Her exams are very difficult, but once you get the hang of it you will do fine. She is a tough teacher, but I def learned a ton from her.

Dr. Y is honestly a great prof. I knew nothing about Chemistry going into this class, and although the class was difficult at times, I learned a lot and made it through! If you go to all the lectures and discussions, and use the resources available you will do fine. Tests can seem tricky at times, but just find a study technique that works for you!

The material that goes with this class is extremly difficult, but Dr. Y is very good at teaching it. She'll guide you along well. Very personable and funny. Hands on and gets to know every student. Lots of little grades. Exams are very tough and she tests on conceptual understanding and application not memorization. Highly recommended professor.

dr. y is a really sweet & funny lady. she can turn on you fast though, so don't let her catch you texting or sleeping. she has a lot of passion & energy & it makes class enjoyable. there are so many little grades[owls, group quizzes, etc] in this class so don't blow them off & you can help boost your grade. great prof!

Dr Y is awesome. She is so passionate about chem and her teaching style helps so much. Tests/quizzes are harder than you'd think, so do the extra problems, read the book, etc. If you put your time in you will learn a lot of chemistry. The subject is hard but it's definitely possible to do well in her class.

I loved Dr. Y she was a fun teacher and she is very passionate about what she does. She also teaches in a variety of ways for people who are not just book learners or visual learners...she lectures but also shows short videos and also does demos

She is REALLY enthusiastic. She loves chemistry and you can tell! The exams were much more difficult than the homework and reviews that she gave us. To do well in this class you have to put in a lot of extra work and do the unrequired assignments that she gives you.

She was very helpful. She knew her stuff well and taught clearly. She was enthusiastic with the class and seemed genuinely excited about Chemistry. One of the best Prof's I've ever had.
