Waste of money. She almost never talked about the plays we were reading and focused on tragedies instead of comedies for most of the class. We finally as a class had to tell her to stick to what we were reading. She gets mad if you disagree with her and will grade you harder on the midterm. Always late and rude. WORST CLASS EVER.

Comment:
For a 400 level course it was not thought provoking. Course should be changed to feminism and narrow view on orientalism within Shakespeare's texts. Only ideas she listened to was if the agreed with her own. She focussed too much on the movies and not enough on the text. In high school films are a fine teaching tool but not a 400 level course.

Took her for Tragedies and I learned ALOT! Her passion really shows in the course, I would recommend her for "serious" students, she takes her attendance policy seriously. I attended all her classes so I didn't have to take the final. There are only film quizzes and two essays. She is a very fair grader and over all a great professor!

She may seem intimidating but it is otherwise an easy class. Fair grader. Film quizzes were a pass/no pass. Perfect attendance exempted you from the final. Essay topics were VERY broad but her feedback was a little harsh. She is very knowledgable but had a tendency to go on 10 minute tangents. Participate in class discussions or prepare to be bored

Took the Shakespearean Tragedies course and she is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in the topic. She is always open to new ideas or ways to look at the text. Film quizzes are easy, just read the text and watch the movie and you'll be fine. If you have perfect attendance throughout the semesterA on the final

If you are interested in Shakespeare, then this class is for you. 2 essays worth 40% (2020), presentation 5%, Final 20%, quizzes, 20%, class participation 15%. She's a very nice lady. However, I don't like how she picks certain students to present their essays in class. Only the good papers get presented. I did not like the in-class spoilers.

Dr. Gajowski is an incredible professor. She is highly intelligent and can offer English majors, or even Feminist Studies majors, very useful knowledge. I enjoyed everyday of her class, and she genuinely loves literature and Shakespeare. I highly recommend all of her courses. She is considerate and takes time to truly critique you as a writer.

Dr. G is the best professor I've ever had. She made the course material interesting, exciting, and relevant to us today. I looked forward to class. She helped me improve my essay writing. She really cares about your ideas, both in class discussion and in essays. I loved the films, too. I plan to take her again and recommend her to other students.

Dr. G is not all that bad. Her class is crazy interesting as long as you read the material. You don't have to buy all the books since most can be checked out in the library. She does want students to use material from class in the essays but her grading is very basic. Just come to class and pay attention; she knows her stuff.

This course is interesting even if you're not really into Shakespeare. And if you write exactly, and I mean exactly, what you hear in class then you will get a decent grade. Any thinking for yourself or deviation from what she discusses in class is considered to be "from another source." So DO NOT put your own ideas in your paper.

Looked forward to going to this class all semester. Loved it! Dr. G. made Shakespeare understandable and exciting. She made his plays relevant to us today. This course is not for slackers--she does both lecture and discussion. She gave a lot of attention to helping me improve my writing. Will enroll in her courses in the future. Highly recommend!

First of all, make sure you have the required textbooks. All class reading is done from the ones specified on the book list. Next, make sure you do not have any opinions that are different from hers. She WILL correct you, even if you do not share her opinions. When reading, she will correct you as if you are in elementary school again. Awful.

I'm so tired of my fellow ENG majors complaining that "she wants it her way". She's the teacher! You go to school for a million years, get published and then you can have it YOUR way. Personally, Dr. Gajowski is everything I want int a teacher- no pretentious show, just knowledge.

This professor is very unprofessional to say the least. She will make it known to you if she has any discretion with you not by actually telling you but by showing you through her actions. She has an awful habit of interrupting you when youre trying to make your point. She is very self centered and only cares about her opinion. DONT TAKE HER!!!

She is the most ridiculous teacher i have ever had. She is rude and very unprofessional. She cares only of her opinion and loves to interrupt when students are talking. She has no sense of respect for people and what they have to say. If she doesnt like you SHE WILL MAKE IT OBVIOUS. DONT TAKE HER IF POSSIBLE!

This course was great and this professor was excellent. She made Shakespeare interesting in her lectures and she helped me improve my essay writing. She cared about our ideas and created an atmosphere where we could learn from the differences in our opinions. Challenging--not the Cliff's Notes version of the Bard.
