I love Fred! His lectures are so interesting and I never get bored. I took his class in spring 2009 but I still go because he is so entertaining. He gives lots of reading assignments but they are very fun and I love his textbook! The pictures and even text are all written by hand and there is space for you to write notes in it to personalize! I think his class should be required for every student because you learn so much more about the world!

Excellent Professor. Extremely passionate and has made me more so. Excellent sense of humor and extremely intelligent, great artist, explains things excellently. One of the best professors I've had. His lectures should be recorded! Says things that sound like poetry! :)

I've taken BIOL 3460 and 2400, and I've been a t.a. for 3460 and 1340. I find any opportunity to take part in one of Fred's classes. He is honestly the only reason I've remained in college. I recommend him, no questions asked.

Amazing professor. Clearly passionate about his subject in a way few university professors are. He cares about his students understanding the subject more than he does about his image. Honest, caring, and lives what he preaches. And he now has an awesome podcast.

One of the only professors on campus who are taking seriously the problems at hand, and one of the few who has the passion to occasion real change. Either audit or register for his organic gardening class too! And if you take Global Environmental Issues in the spring semester of 09, I will see you there; I am one of his TAs.

He was cool until I took organic gardening from him. I got a B. I know... But take that class and you'll see why...it's not easy like you'd think. I got As in O chem, and all bio classes. Organinc gardening was the hardest class I've taken at the U.

fun class, although kind of depressing (the world is going to hell in a handbasket or so I'm told), but at the same time quite motivating. Montauge is a smart guy and willing to help out any of his students. I highly recommend his classes.
